Inchie Cards

Lkhbirds2Today I had planned to get a lot of work done. We all know what comes of  "the best laid plans of mice and men," don't we?  I still have a couple of 3" x 3" cards to share with you tonight, both with "inchie" focal points.

Lkhbirds2mark First I have a bird card using scalloped squares, Memory Box Aerial paper, and a bit of bling. I colored the birds in with the Copic markers pictured below. The deep yellow grosgrain ribbon and cardstock are PaperTrey Ink's Summer Sunshine. I used a Crafty Secrets sentiment inside, "Love warms every nest." (Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this looks like a mother bird lecturing a baby bird? I think my perception has been colored by my day!)

Lkhpeaches2 My second inchie card has a soldered centerpiece that is attached by a glue dot; it could be removed to be used as a magnet.  I chose a larger image, basket of peaches, and selected my favorite square inch of it to color and frame. Most of the markers were the same as the ones above, with the addition of a deeper green (G99) and some peach/pink tones (YR21, R02, R83). The rhinestones are teal, citron, and clear. I used a stamped background on this one, CHF's Scratched Grid backgrounder. The ribbon is some SU white taffeta.

If you have been playing with inchies, don't forget to check out the Inchie Inklings blog for challenges and tips. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

LOL! You're so right - it does look like a mother bird with her head held high lecturing the baby!! Your coloring is awesome!

These are so cute!! Love the smaller square cards to showcase those inchies! Have a great weekend!

These are such sweet little cards! I'm loving orange and sky blue together lately; one of my favorite color combos.

Fantastic inchies! Deb

Very, very cute

These cards are absolutely precious! I especially love the little birdies - very sweet.

Both are super-cute, Debbie! Love the beautiful colors of both of them!

LOVE those....and your color selection is awesome! Those inchies are way too cute!

Simply adorable!! Both are crisp and simple and the colors are just right!

The inchie cards are great. I love the color combos. T

I love the card with the little birds and it does look like a mom lecturing her baby bird. I never thought of that before but it sure looks like it! Love both the cards! They are so cute!!

This is really cute, and you made me laugh because yes, it does look to me like a mommy bird lecturing a little birdie! ;-)

Nice work with the inchies. Love the coloring on these cards. The things we see in our images...

beauties, both!

Brilliant!

Your work is beautiful and so inspiring. BTW, I've nominated your blog for an award. Please see my blog for details: http://michellesrubberroom.blogspot.com/

Great inchie cards Debbie...

These inchies are gorgeous!!! All your art is gorgeous! I think it is mama bird teaching the baby how to sing their song, the song of life:)

they are wonderful thanks for showing us i am inspired now to make more inchies

Wow, what a terrific blog you have. I love how you have used your inchies. I may have to give them a try.

gorgeous cards girl! Love those little birdies!!

Oh ..those are darling!

These both are just darling, amazing what you can do in such small scale!

I need some advise I have enough money saved to buy a set of 72 copics which set would you recommend buying or are 36's better. Thanks Ann

Yes, it looks like a lecturing mama. But notice that the baby bird's mouth is wide open as well, I think we all know what's going on here! The card is adorable, I love the wide ribbon on the smaller card, and your coloring is perfect.
