Lavender and Old Lace

Lkhlavender3 I keep seeing and loving lace on so many cards lately that I finally remembered to buy a couple of yards in a cloth department last week. What goes together better than lavender and old lace? I colored the foxglove image with the Copic markers pictured below, then used one of my new long rectangle dies to cut and emboss the focal image. I ended up trimming it a bit after that because the edge of the stamp was showing unevenly; then I cut a mat layer with the same die for a narrow edge of green.

The background patterned paper is Aerial by Memory Box, with a lighter layer zig-zag stitched on top of the lavender layer. My lace was a stark white, so I aged it a bit with my trusty Antique Linen Distress ink on a sponge. I ran my lavender ribbon through the scallops on the lace and tied a knot on the side. The focal image is popped up with foam tape, and rhinestones on the bottom are 2mm lavender.

Lkhlavender3dtl Both the card base and the background layer are cut with the Spellbinders long rectangle dies; the left side is hinged on the scalloped base (as you can tell by the flatter appearance of the scallops on that side). I added some clear and melon Spica glitter pen to the flower centers and the highlights of the leaves after getting the card together. You can't see it, but trust me--it's there!

Thanks for visiting!

I absolutely love this. The lace gives it a very special touch as does the tiny crystals underneath. This is a winner Debbie and yes, it makes me think of Lavender and Old Lace!

This is another stunning creation Debbie. I don't often use purple/lilac but this just goes to show that purple is ok! Love the old vintage look of this and that background PP is divine with the swirls on it.
