Memorial Day: We Are One
Today I want to express gratitude for those who have given their lives to defend, protect, and serve America. Freedom has historically been anything but free. It's easy to look around -- especially in election years -- and see that we are deeply divided as a nation. (And some things are worth being divided over.) Today, however, I want to remember that we are one. And I want to acknowledge and honor those who have served, those who now serve, and the ones who love and miss them. Thank you.

Beautiful card Debbie. We live in Canada, one of my sons lives in the States and my other son serves as a reservist for the Canadian forces. We are lucky to have people that put their lives on the line to protect us and our countries.
Have a wonderful day.

This is a beautiful card. It would be such a blessing if we made cards and gave them to veterans in our lives. They would be so blessed. Thank God for their sacrifice for our freedom!

What an amazing post and card. Thank you for the art as well as the well spoken words. As a mom of a veteran who spent almost a year in Iraq, I truly appreciate our service men and women.

What a gorgeous card and even more beautiful words. We spent yesterday visitng my husband's first cousin's grave. He was killed in August in Afghanistan. He was an only child and just a wonderful person. Too many people think this weekend is about hamburgers and sales! Thanks for reminding us that people are giving their lives so we can live the way we choose.

Hi, Susan,
The Constitution background that I have is part of a set of five that came in a box. So I'm thinking that it is not the same one. I bought it from a home party lady online, and they company dropped its consultants soon afterward. I just came remember what it was--Dream Impressions, maybe? (There are no identifying markings on either the box nor the stamps.) Thank you for coming up with a name though; it's definitely a great substitution!
P.S. The Constitution background that Susan suggested is found here:

Thanks, Debbie, for the beautiful reminder of what today was meant to express. My husband is a retired career Naval officer. He, and all the other veterans out there, so appreciate your kind thoughts of gratitude.
