Tonight I'd like to share a couple of things: first is a link to a PaperCrafts magazine online bonus project that I made a few months ago, a gift card holder. (It's the second project on the page. The lovely card at the top of that page belongs to my fabulously talented stamping friend Melissa Phillips.)
A step-by-step explanation, including measurements, is at the link above. Its finished size is 4" x 4" closed, and it has a pop-up Christmas Tree inside. I had fun making this one, and I hope that if you try it, you will too!
Next, I have an extra copy of the November/December PaperCrafts that I'd like to share with someone who doesn't have one yet. All you need to do to be entered into the random drawing is to leave a comment on this post by 11pm CST, on Sunday night, October 26--one comment per person, please. If you'd like, you can share your favorite homemade gift to give or receive--maybe you'll inspire each other! Thanks for visiting.

I really like that card. I am going to try to make one. I would like to have that magazine. I don't live near a store that carries them (we live waaaay back in the country) and haven't gotten around to subscribing yet.

Very very nice! This is an idea I will tuck away and use again and again for gift cards, just changing the theme. Thanks for sharing and congrats on having it in PaperCrafts!

What a gorgeous card Debbie...love the little pop up tree inside. For a handmade gift I like to scrapbook 8x8" sized calendars with pertinent photos for the receipient. My mum and mum-in-law especially love these:-)and I love making them too. Cheers!

Very cute gift card. I like to give the nugget tins for gifts. Last year I made tons of tile coasters and origami boxes to put them in and gave them away. Thanks for the chance for this magazine. Never saw it!!

That is so beautiful, Debbie, and such a kind giveaway. This year I am going to make stamped 'Notecubes' - ie 3" square paper cubes stamped on each side and coloured in to make a personalised gift.

Thanks for the gift card popup idea. Homemade gifts to give? I like to make cookies and candy. I am always trying new recipes so the neighbors don't get tired of the same old ones.

Beautiful card..I make calendars every year for about 20 of my coworkers and family..I also make a different gift each year with my nieces for their mothers...a fun holiday tradition that lets me spend time with them..which is actually the best part of the tradition!

What a great idea! Occasionally I give Starbucks gift cards, and this will be a great pattern to use. When you are a cardmaker, your friends and family really look forward to receiving your creations. I like to present mine in the precut templates that SU use to sell (I bought lots!). I decorate the outside with an image similar to the contents inside.

I love that gift card holder. The tree pop-up is fabulous!
The last couple of years since my daughter was born I make homemade Christmas tree ornaments with her picture on it for both her grandparents as well as one for our own tree. I much prefer this to the store bought ones!!
