I hope you made it through April 1 without too many April Fools jokes being played upon you! Thankfully, my son didn't remember that it was April 1 until the late afternoon--that made my day easier. ;-)
For this week's CPS 160 card, I have a smaller format card, 3-1/2" x 5". It was a simple layout, so I wanted to pick a small focal image. I chose a center from JustRite's Stitched with Love Borders and Centers set, stamping it in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloring it with the Copic markers shown below, as well as the Clear, Buttermilk, and Mint Spica Glitter pens. The envelope is a Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream A-1 envelope stamped with a second image from the Stitched with Love Borders and Centers set.
I had the perfect papers to accent it from my Cosmo Cricket Material Girl Mini Deck. Of course, with sewing-themed stamps and sewing-themed paper, you didn't think that I could avoid sewing on this card, did you? Enter a bit of zig-zag stitching.
Ribbon is some 1/4" white silk ribbon, dyed with a YR18 Copic Various Inks Refill. Trust me on this one: it will not take as long to walk upstairs and get a ziploc bag to dye this in, as it will to get the resulting ink stain off of your hand if you chose not to go find a ziploc bag. And don't ask me how I know. . .
The small tag is from Papertrey Ink's Mixed Messages stamp set. If I had a nickel for every time I've used Mixed Messages and Mega Mixed Messages, well, you get the picture. That's it, a little birthday card for the seamstress on your list. Thanks for visiting!
