Welcome! Today I have another stepped-out Copic colored image for you using one of my old favorite images from Papertrey Ink's Autumn Abundance set. The background is stamped in Summer Sun ink on Harvest Gold cardstock with the Mehndi Medallion set., and the tag sentiment is from Tiny Tags.
First, my greens. The YG91's are so muted that I thought I would liven them up a bit with a much more intense YG11 basecoat in most areas. I saw that I had missed a few areas that should have been green; I colored them later.
Here I have added some blossom colors, as well as the patches of green that I had missed earlier. (Click on any photo to enlarge it.)
Flower centers were added here, along with a bit of texture to indicate seeds.
My toughest decision was what color to make the vase, believe it or not! I love blue-greens, and these made me think of a deep summer sky, or maybe sparking tropical coastal waters. I added shadows here too, keeping them irregular and similar to the shape of the flower arrangement. I also considered leaving stark white areas on my vase but eventually decided that I didn't want to make it that reflective. I didn't want the vase to compete with the flowers in importance, and areas of really high contrast always draw attention.
In addition to the stamps listed above, I used three different Spellbinders die templates on this card, a Standard Circles Large, a Classic Squares Large, and a new Postage Stamps (available 8/30/11). The green and white bakers twine is from the Twinery. That's it--one more sunflower card for my stash. Thanks for stopping by!
