Welcome! Bright and early Monday morning, Benjamin and I are headed home from Sacramento. We've had a wonderful time here, but I'm still ready to be home--I've been home for only ten days this month!
Today I have an Autumn birthday card for you. I love Autumn--the U.P. of Michigan is gorgeous at this time of year! I used one of my new Papertrey Ink September release stamp sets, Heart-2-Heart #8 for the focal image, paired with a sentiment from Heart-2-Heart #5 and grass from Love Lives Here.
I thought I would show you how I inked the treetop, thinking that someone might ask. ;-) I started with a yellow chalk ink, inking the whole treetop. Next I dabbed some green chalk ink on the bottom, and them some red chalk ink on the top. Yes, I got a little bit of yellow ink on my green and red pads, but it really isn't hurting them. (If it bugs you, you can tap the contaminated ink pad on a piece of scrap cardstock until the color is clean again.) Next I used a Spellbinders Classic Rectangle Large die template to cut and emboss my frame, leaving it in place until I airbrushed with a Copic BG23 and Copic Airbrush System for my sky area. The tree trunk is stamped in PTI's Canyon Clay ink.
Patterned papers are from Cosmo Cricket's S'More Love Mini Deck. In addition to the rectangle die template, I also used a Labels Fourteen die template. Glitter is some Martha Stewart glitter than I had purchased in a set a couple of years ago; I liked it because it was a rustier tone of red. I dyed the seam binding with my Copic re-inkers: colorless blender to wet the seam binding, then drips of E09, Y26, and YG93. It was pretty random looking; I didn't mix it up much because I didn't want the colors to get muddy. I let it air dry for a few minutes before using it. That's it for tonight--thanks for visiting!
