Last Day in Rome

 

Tomorrow we bid Rome arrivederci and lead for La Romita near Terni. I have loved Rome, but being a country girl at heart, I am quite sure to love Umbria as well. I wanted to share a few more photos from the many that I have taken--good thing I have three memory cards here! Above are a couple of shots of the Coliseum.

I am pretty sure that this is Circus Maximus. I remember reading about this is Fox's Book of Martyrs many years ago. . .

We saw about six weddings or brides today, between our two groups. I hadn't realized it while I was taking pictures, but I think I see two brides in this photo, one in each lower corner!

 

Tonight three of us walked around in our immediate neighborhood. (I needed more pictures!) It was getting pretty dark, so I had my camera on aperture priority to gather as much light as possible. That is why one set of people is blurred and the other is not. I loved the contrasting hues in this shot, those blues and oranges.

 

 

How about this glassware inside a shop, through the window? Jewel-toned love!

A funny thing happened near the end of the walk: a bakery materialized out of thin air. Of course we had to buy something so I could take pictures. ;-) Don't worry; we ate the evidence.
