Welcome! Can you handle a random bits of this-and-that post tonight? It's been a busy week, both for paper crafting and for life! I'll have another My Favorite Things Stamps post going up on Release Night, Tuesday, August 2, at 10pm EST/9pm my time (Central). If you are looking for my prior MFT Countdown posts:
Tomorrow around noon, I have a Hero Arts August Monthly Kit post going up. Still working on that one. :-)
So, what's been on my desk this weekend? I've been sketching from a picture that I took of a fig that was so ripe, it had burst open. By the way, if you have never tasted a fresh fig right off the tree, they are a totally different form of life from the filling in a Fig Newton--trust me on that one! I don't think we can grow them up here, so I'm always intrigued when I'm down South and see a fig tree.
Anyway, I'm still in rough--very rough--sketching and correcting stages. I'll ink it when I get a chance (which won't be for a couple of days for sure).
If you've wondered what happened to the grapes that I was working on, I think I've gotten three or four more grapes colored and a bit more of the veining done in one section of the big leaf. It's coming slowly. So why am I starting something else already? Simple! It's really easy to carry a sketchbook or clipboard and my 3mm Nobby Pencil and Click-Eraser around, even when I can't haul all of my Copic markers along! (I can also sketch in the car when Rick is driving, while coloring doesn't go so well. . .)
Yesterday was a beautiful day here, so Benjamin and I went blueberry picking at a local orchard. We picked almost nine pounds of berries, all on less than 20 feet of ONE row. I have never seen such loaded blueberry bushes in my life! Actually, I've never picked cultivated blueberries before--only the wild blueberries that grow six inches high in the woods. Anyway, our blueberries have all been frozen for smoothie use later this year. (No, not even a pie. Weird, I know!) I hope we'll get to go pick more berries this coming weekend. Maybe my guys will get a pie out of that batch.
On the Copic classes front, I saw that Nancy has opened my Las Vegas Copic Workshops that take place on September 23 and 24. Other open classes include Chicago, Dallas, Edmonton, and Charlotte, NC. If you'd like more information on any of these, you can find it HERE.
Well, I need to get busy again--have a fabulous week!
