Two Hearts, One Love: CPS 153

Valentine's Day will soon be upon us!  PaperTrey Ink is the sponsor of this week's CPS 153 Sketch. I chose one of last year's sets to play with for this sketch, Heart Prints. The little tag is a sentiment from Favor It Weddings, cut with a Spellbinders Double-Ended Tags Trio die, with the tag trimmed to length after I stamped the sentiment.

Papers are from Cosmo Cricket's Garden Variety Mini Deck. I'm running low on these particular pieces, so I'll have to start using something else soon!

Ribbon is 1/4" white silk, dyed with a few strokes from a Copic R27 marker. Silk is oh-so-easy to dye with a Copic, and it takes only a few seconds to dry. I added some glitter in the center of each flower on the red heart.

Plant a Little Love: CPS 152

This week's CPS Sketch 152 sponsor was JustRite Stampers. I stamped the poppy image from the Plant a Little Love set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with the Copic markers shown below.

 

For the words, I stamped the outer sentiment ring and then cut the words apart and mounted then normally. 

Paper is from Cosmo Cricket's new Garden Variety line (Sunday Picnic and Tossed Salad). Ribbon is May Arts silk. I used a Spellbinders Classic Plain Circle Nestability to cut and emboss my poppy image, and then I distressed its edges with PaperTrey's Chamomile Distress ink.

Hello: CPS 151

 I love Tami Mayberry's CPS Sketches!  They help me break out of my comfort zone and get ideas that wouldn't normally come to me. I edited this week's CPS 151 sketch just a bit because I didn't have room for four elements across the front.  

Here I've paired some Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday papers (Tuesday and Sunday) with PaperTrey Ink buttons and sentiment (Mega Mixed Messages). Flowers are die cut using Spellbinders Nested Flowers dies, and tag is cut down from a Double Ended Tags Trio die. Buttons are PaperTrey Ink Vintage Buttons in Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, and Spring Rain. Leaves are a die cut from Stampin' Up.

Little Sweet Pea: CPS 150

 

This week's CPS 150 Sketch card is a baby card. October Afternoon was this week's CPS sponsor, and I just happened to have a pad of their Farm Fresh paper on hand to use with this layout. The stamp images are from PaperTrey Ink's Baby Button Bits, and buttons are New Leaf Vintage Buttons.

I colored the inside of the pea pod with a Copic YG13, after stamping the outside with Tea Leaves Versamagic ink. The sentiment is stamped in PaperTrey's Pure Poppy Ink, and edges are distressed in the Chamomile Vintage Distress Cube. Those little squares are pieces of cardstock that I coated in Ranger Glossy Accents and mounted with foam tape.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year: CPS Sketch of Choice

This is it--the last CPS Sketch of 2009! We were asked to chose one of our favorite sketches from the past 147. I chose Sketch 125 to pair with a JustRite Stampers Christmas Joy Borders and Centers Oval, along with the 1-3/4" x 2-5/16" Small Oval Wooden Stamper. 

I stamped the border and center in Versamark ink on watercolor paper and heat embossed with Filigree Detail Gold Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored the image with a waterbrush and watercolor crayons. (Okay, I confess: when it dried, it looked a bit washed out, so I used my Copic markers to add a tiny bit of depth on top of the watercolor.)

I cut and embossed the image with a Spellbinders Classic Oval Nestability and then edged it with a gold metallic paint pen. Papers are Comfort and Celebrate from the My Mind's Eye Coastal Laundry Line Collection. Ribbon is May Arts Ivory Silk, and cardstock is PaperTrey Ink Gold Shimmer and Vintage Cream.

Merry and Bright: CPS146

Welcome! Today I have a CPS Sketch 146 card to share with you. This one was a bit challenging simply because of the number of layer involved, so I knew that I would want to use coordinating patterned papers to keep all of those layers looking good together. I chose Heather's Rustic Snowflakes papers, as well as the PaperTrey Ink Holiday Button Bits set. The strings are embossed with Filigree Detail Silver embossing powder, and buttons are PaperTrey Ink Vintage Buttons. Ribbon is Pure Poppy Grosgrain.

Joy to the World: CPS 145

How about a CPS sketch card today? I've had a little CPS vacation, but I'm happy to be back in the saddle again! For CPS145, Tami gave us a square shape with a large  focal image in the center, along with a band through the center. It looked like a perfect sketch to use with some chipboard from my stash, so I chose Cosmo Cricket Oh Joy chipboard (Buck Naked Ornaments) and papers (Yuletide and Frosty).

The tag, cut with a Spellbinders Double-Ended Tag die and trimmed to length, is a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink's Holiday Button Bits. Buttons are PTI Vintage Buttons (Pure Poppy and New Leaf). Ribbon is also PaperTrey, Sheer Gold Metallic.

Hello, Little Monkey: CPS 135

This week's CPS 135 sponsor is Inky Antics, and what a lot of darling stamps they have!  I chose the Monkeys Hanging Around set; who could resist a face like that? 

I colored the monkey with the Copic markers pictured below and combined him with some Cosmo Cricket Mr. Campy papers (Nature Walk and Skipping Stones). Ribbon is Mr. Campy ribbon, and buttons are PaperTrey's Vintage Wooden Buttons.

A Merry Little Christmas: CPS 134

This week's CPS 134 sponsor was JustRite Stampers, with a Christmas theme.  I chose the Merry Little Christmas set and 1-5/8" block, paired with papers from the Jolly by Golly Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket.

Cardstock colors are PaperTrey Ink's Vintage Cream, Ocean Tides, and Sweet Blush. Ink is Colorbox Rouge, Versamagic Pixie Dust, and PTI's Vintage Chamomile Cube.

I used a Sizzix Snowflake die to cut a large snowflake from standard chipboard; because the snowflake was a little larger than I needed, I trimmed the tips off about 1/8". I sprayed the chipboard snowflake with spray adhesive and added ultrafine glitter to the snowflake. To layer the Just Rite dies, I used a couple of Spellbinders Classic Circle dies. Rhinestones and Stickles added more "bling factor."  Ribbon is PaperTrey Sweet Blush Satin.

Apple of My Pie: CPS 132

This week's CPS 130 sponsor was Sweet N' Sassy Stamps. I chose the Sweet as Pie digital stamp set because I had some pretty Webster's Pages pie paper sitting in a drawer--it needed to be used!

As you probably know, digital stamps are generally .jpg images that you print on an inkjet and color. I colored mine with the Copic markers shown below (0, W1, W3, YR0000 YG63, YG67, E44, R22, R46, R89). 

 

Perhaps is just my inkjet printer, but I find that I have to avoid over-saturating the lines when I color inkjet-printed images with my Copics. As long as I use a lighter touch and don't get an area too wet, if works just fine.

Most accessories are PaperTrey Ink (wooden buttons and rustic twine). Cardstock is PTI Pure Poppy and Vintage Cream. Distress ink is PTI's Vintage Chamomile cube.
