I got back from Chicago late yesterday afternoon. Other than having a hard time getting out of town, the trip went well. Have you ever had your GPS tell you to turn right when it's too late to get into the right lane? Okay, how about twice? Man, I was praying that I'd get out after that second time! Then there was the "Stay left, stay left, stay left" incident that meant I accidentally skipped one toll plaza. Thankfully I have seven days to pay it online. I am definitely not a city girl!
I will try to get some pictures of the Papertrey booth posted tomorrow, for those of you who are waiting for that. :-)
Today I have a little 4-1/4" square floral card to share with you. I wanted to participate in Ellen's Flower Parade today, so I chose a newer Lockhart stamp image, Peonies, and combined it with some Webster's Pages paper from the Postcards from Paris/Sweet as Cherry Pie Petite Pad. I stamped the Peonies image in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with the markers shown below. Card size is 4-1/4" square.
I liked these bright greens until I started looking for some coordinating patterned paper. I toned them down a bit later with a more muted green family.
Here are the pinks, as well as the muted greens and the colorless blender that I used to enhance some highlights.
Finally, colored the flower container, the shadows, and added some pale yellow (that blank capped marker, a mixture of Y21 and colorless blender) and some pale violet on the shadow side around the outside of the flowers.
I die cut the colored image with a Spellbinders Labels 1 die and matted it with a new Lace Squares die. I like the Lace Squares and Circles! Ribbon is some Hug Snug seam binding dyed with Copic Various Inks R32.
Do you have time to work on a flower card? If you do, we would love to have you play along with us.Check out the information in this post. Thanks for stopping by!
