Q: What set-up do you use to take pictures of your cards?
A: I tried a small light tent first (16") and didn't like the fact that I had seams showing in my photographs so much of the time. I bought a larger tent (24", this one) next It had better lights, but STILL too dim. I ended up
buying two of the honkin' biggest CFL Daylight bulbs you have ever
seen--seriously, about a foot long--and have two smaller lamps with the
original bulbs as well. (Big bulbs are 100 Watt 6400K CFL photo bulb
110v-130v 6000 Hours Life/ $25 each.) To keep from having to switch all
four lights on separately, I have them plugged into a surge protector
strip. Even with all of that, I set my camera to overexpose slightly
AND I generally lighten and add contrast in Photoshop Elements.
Sheesh--the things we do for light! ![]()

Why don't you put the card up on a box inside the light box to photograph.May get more direct lighting and make it brighter.I do this - makes it easier to arrange, photograph and saves wear & tear on the back.Just take your backdrop piece & lay it on top of the box to hide it.

great idea! i ended up getting the latest flash (sb-900) for my Nikon, which turned out great. Since I live in a loft that gets *some* natural lighting, i could move the pieces close to the window and shoot from there....

I want to try the great tutorial you did on the Cuttlebug where you left an oval center that did not get embossed. I have found the gasket but now I can't find the tutorial. Can you please tell me where to find it.
I love your blog and all the cards you do. You are an amazing talent!

I e-mailed Linda, so I'm just answering here in case anyone else is looking. I don't have a Cuttlebug (at least not yet ;-D), so it wasn't my tutorial. There are videos on YouTube that show how to use Spellbinders dies in different machines, however. HTH!
