Welcome! I'm supposed to be working on a new batch of Papertrey Ink release projects, but I thought I would take time to slip in another ETM card today. For this one I used three stamp sets: Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, Love Lives Here, and Love Lives Here Holiday. I was cleaning the counter-top around my paper trimmer when I ran across several small scraps of patterned papers from a Season's Greetings 6" x 6" pad (Echo Park). I couldn't throw them away; instead I stitched them together into one 5" long strip, then trimmed my strip and matted it with Pure Poppy cardstock.
I stamped the sentiment in Versamagic Red Magic, then cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Labels One die template. Next I edged it with a gold paint pen for some quick shimmer. The red scalloped edge is cut with a Spellbinders Classic Scallop edge die, and that little felt leaf (PTI's Chartreuse wool felt) is cut with a Petal Pack Punch. Ribbon is PTI's Pure Poppy Grosgrain, and the mini pin is a Tim Holtz accessory.
I used the Love Lives Here sets inside the card. I had originally stamped the house in white pigment ink, but I didn't get the heart centered just right. That's why I have a second layer there. (Confession is good for the soul, right?) Now, since this is supposed to be an Easy to Make, Easy to Mail series, here are a few things that you can simplify:
Skip the stitching; you can used adhesive to stick those strips together on a scrap of cardstock. Next, you could leave off the mat layer of the paper scrap strip if you are really in a hurry. The sentiment could be stamped on a 2" or 2-1/4" square piece of cardstock, and the accessories can be left off. (But it looks better with them on. ;-}) Inside: Just stamp the house--but keep in mind that you can fix a mistake by putting a cut-out house on top!
That's it--thanks for stopping by.
