Don't you just love the colors in the Cosmo Cricket Gretel line? I've had one of the small SU blank clipboards sitting here since the middle of July and decided that it was time to clothe it. With Fall in the air, this Gretel paper seemed to be just the ticket! I covered both sides of the clipboard, then found some mini legal pads at a superstore--3-1/2" x 5-1/4" long--and covered one of them as well. After I use up the mini legal pad, I think I'll get some of the longer shopping list pads.
The stamp is a Lockhart stamp that Michelle Wooderson made me get! (Okay, she didn't really have to twist my arm.) I pulled colors from the CC Gretel line and used my Copic markers in the following colors: B000, E51, T5, Y21, YR24, BG72, C1, R27, and 0. I used a Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress pad to age the vanilla card stock. The little {TAKE note} tag is stamped with the first PaperTrey set, Paper Tray. I used my Spellbinders Nestability Classic and Scalloped Rectangle dies to cut and mat my focal image, the pencil jar. Mat is cut from Chocolate Chip card stock. Using a scrap of the Gretel paper, I inserted it into the barrel of my Pentel RSVP pen, tied the pen cap to the clipboard with SU's linen thread, and glued a button on. (To write with the pen, you just remove it from the cap. But the cap stays attached so that it doesn't get lost.) Finally, I added a few miscellaneous buttons and ribbons to the top of the clipboard. I may have to get more of these clipboards; this was a fun little project. Some girls need purses; I need cute notebooks!
