I love the little Maya Road Journey Tins!** Paired with a small stamped image and a few micro beads, you can't beat this for a sweet little present. Here I used the Lockhart Flurry Family, Mama, Papa, and Nicholas, who is raised on a small piece of foam tape. I used my Copic Markers to color them in the following colors: B00, G40, YR07. I then masked Papa and Mama Flurry with Eclipse Paper and airbrushed the background with my Copic Airbrush System and marker B000. After taking the masks off, I cut out around Nicholas Flurry and used foam tape to attach him in front of Mama and Papa Flurry. I traced around the bottom of the tin with a pencil, then cut slightly inside my line. (It doesn't have to be perfect since the edges won't show.) I glued the image in the bottom of the tin, then added micro beads. (If you are looking for glass beads in large quantities, you probably can't beat the price at Pennywise Arts. I'm still using some that I bought there three years ago.) I used just a drop or two of Crystal Effects to attach the tin top, then ran my gingham ribbon through my Xyron and wrapped it around the whole tin, leaving a hanging loop at the top and hiding my seam on the bottom of the tin. I added the bow on front with a mini glue dot rather than tying it around the hanging loop and making it pucker. Besides being fun to look at, these little tins are fun to shake! (Please tell me that I'm not the only adult who gets sheer delight out of shaking glass beads. . .)
Thanks for visiting!
