Today I needed a quick bridal shower card for a lovely young lady who works with the children in Wednesday night Kid's Club. She has taught, listened to, and generally been an encouragement to my son--he adores her!
Now that he has become accustomed to the idea of Miss Sarah's impending marriage, he really wanted to give her something that was just from him. He first asked us to take him to the bank so that he could take money out of his savings account. I told him that we would take care of a check. He thought and thought, and he came back to my desk with two grubby, wrinkled little "One Free McDonald's Ice Cream Cone" gift certificates that he had earned in Bible School this summer and hadn't spent yet. "Could we give these to Miss Sarah too? I think they like to date," he confided. I looked at them, and I looked at him, and I said, "Certainly we can! I think that this would be just the thing!" Kids are the best, aren't they?
This stamp is one of my new Wordsworth stamps, Love. Paper is Neenah Classic White and SU Purely Pomegranate and Basic Gray. Ink is Regal Rose and Purely Pomegranate. I used a Spellbinders Nestability Square die to cut and emboss the focal image, then added a 1/16" mat along with clear Hero Arts rhinestones. Background is CHF's Leaves 3. (Yes, I know that I keep using this background. It's my newest one, so it's the reigning favorite. But don't worry: I have another on the way.) A length of Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon finishes it off. I considered a small tag with their names on it, but it looked distracting. I also tried a stick pin with a white pearl, but that didn't quite work either. In the end, I figured that what really mattered was the love inside--those two, tattered ice cream certificates, I mean! ;-D
Have a wonderful day!
