It's here--March's PaperTrey Release Day! I wanted to share a few of the pieces that I made with this month's five new sets and two new colors. If there are any weddings in my future, I will be well-prepared with Wedding Day, Boxes, Bag, and Tags, and Favor It Weddings.
One of our assignments this month was to create a simple wedding gift or gift wrap. I passed by the half-price table at Hallmark after Valentines Day and found these cool personalize-able, heart-shaped glass paperweights. Score! I used the red box that it came in to trace a template onto last month's Everyday Blessings paper, then used our engagement picture to fill the heart. The "Happily Ever After" is from PTI stamp designer Alli Miles's Wedding Day set, and the "Two Hearts, One Love" sentiment is from Favor It Weddings. (You know how much I love tags!) Ribbon is PTI Aqua Mist polka dotted satin. I used Adirondack Stream to stamp the sentiments in. How simple is that? (By the way, if you want to see some amazing, sophisticated wedding ensembles, you have got to see Alli's blog. That girl is SO creative!)
Next, how about an easily reproducible wedding invitation? I used a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots A-2 embossing folder on a piece of PaperTrey Stamper's Select White get a simple, textured background. (I cut it down slightly smaller than A-2 because the folder patterns don't come all the way to the edges otherwise.) I used Berry Sorbet ink to stamp a medallion from Wedding Day, the masked off most of the medallion and used Sweet Blush ink to stamp "always and forever" on the inside. I matted it using a Spellbinders Petite Nestability Scalloped Circle die. The word "Love" in Berry Sorbet finishes it off, except for the length of Berry Sorbet satin ribbon that I threaded through two holes in the medallion and tied in a bow. For the envelope I used another piece from Wedding Day, stamped in Berry Sorbet. **Please note that Berry Sorbet is NOT orange. It's looking that way on my screen in spite of color correction.**
How about something casual and floral? The new Pink Patterns Collection will certainly fill the bill! I used the flowered paper from the 6" x 6" pad to cover the front of this card, then stamped a band with the Boxes, Tags, and Bags set. The Spring Moss medallion is also from Boxes, Tags, and Bags, and the "Love Blooms" sentiment is from Favor It Weddings. I used a Spellbinders Nestability Petite Scalloped circle die to cut and emboss the circle under the medallion from from Sweet Blush cardstock. (This card coordinated with the Love Notes tin that I posted yesterday.)
Finally, I wanted to share some birthday cards and bags made with PTI stamp designer Candice Aguilar's It's a Celebration set, as well as Birthday Basics. I found It's a Celebration to be a well-thought-out set, and I love the sentiments in Birthday Basics as well. For the gift bag, I used a PTI frosted tin tie bag stamped in Berry Sorbet ink. (When you use Palette ink on a frosted bag like this, let it dry for a bit before touching it.) I adore the banners in the It's a Celebration set--so clean and fresh! So I added banners to both the gift bag topper and the little gift card. Inks are Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, and Spring Moss.
The last card is another birthday card using It's a Celebration and Birthday Basics, but it opens differently. I cut the base normal A-2 sized, then I used my Spellbinders Rectangle dies to cut a scalloped mat and a plain card that opens up. The gift is then mounted on the part that opens. It's hard to see, but I stamped the open circles in the background, then filled in the smaller ones with Ranger Glossy accents. I filled in the circles on the present with Glossy Accents as well.
Well, that what I've been working on besides blog posts for the last week. I truly appreciate your taking the time to visit! There are so many lovely pieces in the PTI Gallery if you have time to browse. Also, congratulations to Niki and Penny for their well-deserved Guest Star Stamper for March awards!
