I have a simple monogrammed notecard for you tonight. I knew that I wanted something understated and elegant, so I rooted through my stash of patterned paper and came up with a trio of Webster's Pages papers from their Classical Garden collection: Tranquility, Nature's Way, and Morning Glory. (I later lined the envelope with the front side of the Nature's Way pattern.)
After choosing my patterned papers, I decided to use a brown ink (Pearlescent Chocolate Brilliance), and my Just Rite DIY Monogram Stamper with the Special Occasions font. Rather than choose a three-letter monogram, I decided to go with just a first name. (Trust me--it was best that way!) I stamped the monogram "M" on the back of the Nature's Way paper, then used my Spellbinders Nestability Classic Plain die to cut and emboss the "M." I used Prism Birchtone Dark as my dark brown cardstock for matting withe scalloped circle, and as well as the rest of the card. (It's a deep brown that does not have reddish overtones.) I aged my edges a bit with some Antique Linen Distress ink, then mounted the stamped monogram on the scalloped background and punched holes on either side of the "M" through which to run my chocolate satin ribbon.
After matting a strip of Morning Glory paper with the birchtone dark cardstock, I top-stitched the strip onto my card front, then mounted my monogrammed "M" on foam tape and tied the ribbon around the card front. I then mounted the card front to some Neenah Classic Ivory cardstock, and lined the envelope with a coordinating striped paper. That's it--easy peasy! I love to be able to give gifts that are personalized but still don't take too long to make; monogrammed notecards fill the bill!
