Tonight was the first chance that I'd had to play with my new tulip bouquet stamp. I started by choosing my Copic markers for the blooms and greenery, then made background cardstock choices after coloring my focal image. (Markers are shown below for color reference.**) I stamped the image in Brilliance Chocolate Pearlescent ink and heat set it briefly before beginning to color. I drew in a couple of lines with a multiliner pen near the base of the tulip vase to give myself a logical place for a change of light planes so that I could ground the vase with a shadow.
Background is a Cornish Heritage Farms Pretty Pattern, inked in Stampin' Up's vanilla craft ink. Cardstock colors are Neenah Natural Cream, SU Kraft, and Prism Blush Red Light and Blush Red Medium. Ribbon is SU's taffeta in Kraft and in Ivory, colored with my Copic R14 marker. The sentiment is from Verve Visual's Heartfelt Phrases set, punched out with an SU Word Window Punch.
I aged my cardstock edges with Antique Linen Distress ink, then zig-zag stitched the center band onto the background for added texture. After getting the card put together, I used my clear and melon Spica glitter pens to enhance the tulips and leaves, then added a photo corner to help balance out the two ribbons on the right. I love tulips and found this to be a fun image to color! Thanks for visiting my blog.
** The marker with no number was an empty marker which I filled with blending solution and YR31 to get a pale warm yellow.
