Tonight I stamped with a new Cornish Heritage Farms Scrapblock, all excited about making a card with my new Aged Sheet Music backgrounder! Then I started looking in my stash for an image to use with it. Hmmm. No cool music stamps, and no music quotations even. :-( Finally I had a brainstorm--I could use a stamp that said "Just a Note."
I grabbed a box of stamps that had arrived last week and found my solution--the Just Rite, Just A Note 2x Stamper. It's pre-inked in black, which worked perfectly with my sheet music background. I stamped a couple of these images to cut out with some of my Spellbinders label dies. Next I used some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to sponge the edges of both the music and the tags. (I usually use a more subtle Antique Linen Distress Ink, but since the sheet music had more visual noise and looked older already, I thought that a darker ink would work better.)
Because the tags needed a dark background to stand out, I sewed on a strip of black cardstock, then tied the tag with an ivory silk ribbon (May Arts). I was pleased with these little additions to my Mom's card stash. Don't forget the contest going on at the JustRite Stampers blog! There are six very talented stampers vying for this week's honors. Voting is open through Tuesday evening for this round.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
