Tonight I had some lovely papers out on my desk that I'd been playing with for another project, Cosmo Cricket's Wanted line. They seemed perfect for what I had in mind: a masculine thank you note.
My next problem was a sentiment: most of my thank you sentiments are curvy and feminine: Brayton font (Just Rite Stampers) to the rescue! I inked the letters with Versamagic inks: Turquoise Gem, Jumbo Java, and Pumpkin Spice, to coordinate with the paper. I love how simple these letters are to align, and I enjoy having different sizes in the fonts as well.
A bit of stitching around the sentiment made it look like a worn tag, and the zig-zag stitching of the different patterned papers together added some interest to the card front as well. When I was looking for embellishments, I chose aged copper brads first, then decided that they were just a bit small. Instead I added some Dew Drops; I'm still asking myself if these make it too bling-y for a guy-card, but my husband said that they were okay. (Maybe he thought that that question fell into the same category as "Does this outfit make me look fat?" ;-D) It's too late now--the card has been sent!
