**Marker colors may vary from those pictured. Also, approximate retail value of this package as shown is about $40-$50. Edited to add: from some comments, I am getting the impression that people think Marianne is giving away an air compressor here; it is the handle and air can pictured, the ABS2--not an air compressor. The way it works is that you screw the can of air into the bottom of the grip, and then snap a Copic Sketch or Original marker into the barrell, and spray lightly or heavily depending upon how hard you push the button. May has just flown by, hasn't it? My final post as a May Guest Designer for Emma's Paperie is up, a tutorial on how to make this little pictorial CD gift folder. Nichole Heady had created a music CD folder last year and recommended the book B is for Baby. I ordered it and bookmarked it to pieces, but this is the first time that I've remembered to get it out and use it! I tweaked the instructions a bit, but it's the same basic folder. Joy Kennedy of Eclectic Paperie fame has a birthday today! Cami says that Joy loves little Kona, one of Marianne's creations in a new Our Craft Lounge set to be released Friday, Hangin' Loose with Kona. So in honor of Joy's birthday, here's Kona, riding the Big Wave.
I took a few pictures as I colored Kona with my Copic markers. I'll not babble since the colors are shown right in each picture. Papers are Cosmo Cricket Snorkel papers, School's Out and Umbrellas. Twill is also Cosmo Cricket, while buttons are a combination of PaperTrey ink and Buttons Galore. Process Copic coloring pictures are all below. Click on any picture to see it larger.

How about a summer card today? Lemonade, sunglasses, flip-flops--sounds like summer vacation! For stamps I used PaperTrey Ink's Day at the Beach set, along with Polka Dot Basics and Background Basics: Text Style.
Cardstock is Aqua Mist, Raspberry Fizz, Hibiscus Burst, Ocean Tides, and Stampers Select White. Ink is Tuxedo Memento Black, Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, Summer Sun, and Fresh Snow. Buttons are PTI's Hibiscus Burst, Lemon Tart, and Aqua Mist Vintage Buttons.
Copic Markers are Y21, Y26, BG11, RV17, and 0. For the icecubes and straw, I heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and then slightly tinted the ice cubes with the BG11 marker, and colored the straw with the RV17 marker. Both are shiny and raised.
The scallop at the bottom is a Spellbinders die-cut using the Fancy Scalloped Pierceability Die. (I often use it as a simple cut rather that embossing and piercing.)

This week's CPS 117 sponsor was Innovative Stamp Creations. I love flowers, so this Passion Flower was right down my alley! First order of business was to Google Passion Flowers and see what colors they should be; while there was a lot of variety, most were shades of blues and purples.
I chose some Twinkling H2O's to watercolor the image, stamped in Black Brilliance on watercolor paper and heat set. Next I used Copic's Glitter pens in Melon, Yellow, Lavender, and Clear to add even more sparkle. The purples and greens were just begging to be used with some Basic Grey Wisteria papers. Cardstock is PaperTrey Ink's Plum Pudding and Spring Moss. Grosgrain snippet is also PaperTrey's Ripe Avocado. The large button is a Basic Grey Wisteria button, and the tag is stamped in SU's Eggplant ink on a Spellbinders Tags Trio die cut. The finished size of my card is 5-1/8" square.

Over the past few weeks, Cosmo Cricket and Tattered Angels designers have been combining products with some beautiful results. Today is my turn, along with Vicki Chrisman and Liz Hicks.
I experimented with some masks and Glimmer Mist. Unfortunately, it's hard to see the impact of Glimmer Mist from photographs! On the first card I used Cosmo Cricket Everafter papers (Something Old) and Suede Glimmer Mist, along with a Tim Holtz Music Notes mask.
The little tag is from PaperTrey Ink's Favor It Weddings set, and Latte pearls are from Ellen Hutson, LLC. For the silk flower, I used about a 10-12" length of ivory silk ribbon and ran a gathering stitch through only one side. I then gathered it and sewed the bottom in place. Cardstock is PaperTrey's Smokey Shadow and Vintage Cream, and ink is also Smokey Shadow. I used a Spellbinders Fancy Scalloped Pierceability Die for the bottom edge of the card.
Next I tried a different mask, Borderline, in conjunction with Patina and Meadow Green Glimmer Mists. Background papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line (Wednesday). In addition to spraying the paper with a mask in place, I also sprayed plain white silk flowers to coordinate. You can't see as much shimmer on the silk flowers as you can on paper, but it still dyed them beautifully. On the flowers, the dye tends to migrate toward the outer edges, leaving them a bit darker than the centers--a nice accidental effect. The Merci tag is from PaperTrey Ink's Mega Mixed Messages set, die cut with a Spellbinders Double-Ended tags die and trimmed.

This weekend I'd like to share a card for the Cards for Heroes Blog Hop. CFH was a new site to me until this week; but after browsing there for a while, I knew that I'd like to help others find the site and, most of all, help the cause. My card is an AnyHero card--a card for a hero who needs encouragement.
With Memorial Day around the corner here in America, we've been seeing veterans with the red paper poppies outside stores. As we've collected a few of these poppies, we've been trying to explain to our son what constitutes a hero. It isn't someone with blue tights and a cape who happens to be impervious to danger. To us, it's someone who willingly sacrifices anything from personal comfort through perhaps even life, for the benefit of others. It obviously doesn't have to be someone serving in the military, but today's card is for a military hero.
Cards for Heroes also sends unsigned cards that servicemen and women can send back to their loved ones. Do you have a stash that could use a home? Please consider donating them to Cards for Heroes! I have a beachy-keen card for you today; when we were in Green Bay the other day to pick up our guests from the airport, our son mentioned flip-flops. Right away I could see this card in my mind; I combined the flip-flops from PaperTrey Ink's Day at the Beach set with Cosmo Cricket Snorkel papers (Current and Beach Towel). I inked the flip-flops in Plum Pudding and Summer Sunshine (PaperTrey Ink), as well as Lettuce and Terra Cotta (Adirondack).
Next I tore a piece of Eclipse Tape to act as a mask for my sand and water line, and then airbrushed the water with Copic marker BG13. I then used a clear blender pen to "erase" the blue from the polka dots on the two pair of dotted sandals, and then used a T1 Copic marker to add a light shadow on the left side of the flip-flops. I them stamped the thong part of the shoes in Versamark and heat embossed using Filigree Detail White embossing powder.
I spent ten years in Pensacola, Florida, before moving waaaaayyyyyy up North, so white sands are what I'm most accustomed to--that's why I left the sand almost white, except for the sponged-on Antique Linen Distress ink. It still needed some of that foam at the edge of the water, so I added some Prisma glitter at the water's edge. The string on the buttons started out natural and was dyed with Copic markers coordinating with the button colors. Ribbon is some Cosmo Cricket Snorkel ribbon. I did a bit of stitching to finish the card after adding the starfish and sentiment.
While I'm at the computer, I have one more piece to share with you--one created for the Emma's Paperie Blog May Sketch Challenge by designer Lisa Dorsey. I had fun with this card and loved the delicious sherbet-colors of the SEI Mimosa paper. Everything I used except for ink is linked from the post above. Also, several of you have said that you haven't seen the new Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers in your local stamp stores yet. Emma's has Early Bird as well as Snorkel available.

This week's CPS 116 sponsor was Emily at Stamping Bella. Aren't these little vases fun? What more could you ask from a stamp--color-able and paper-piece-able!
I stamped the Flower Bottles image on Stampers Select White cardstock (PaperTrey Ink) with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and colored it with the Copic markers shown below. That one on the right end is my blend of BG000 and clear blender fluid--just a lighter blue that is easy to blend into the paper.
Next I stamped the vases on three different scraps of Cosmo Cricket's new Early Bird** paper, trimmed them closely, and glued them on top of the stamped vases on the focal image. The little smile sentiment is from the Melissa Frances Inspiration Rub-On Transfers set. That small tag is cut with a Spellbinders Double-Ended Tags die, then trimmed to length by hand. The focal image is cut and embossed with a SquareNestability. Buttons are mostly PaperTrey Ink Vintage Buttons. I added a touch of Stickles (Aqua and Yellow) to flower centers and raised just the single rose blossom.
I'll be blogging as often as possible this week, but I have family visiting who are headed overseas soon. I'm squeezing out all of the time to spend with them that I can! I hope that you have some unexpected smiles today; thanks for visiting.

I'm taking a break from house-cleaning to quickly post a guy card; we have family coming tomorrow, so my posting will be on a "whenever it happens, it happens" basis this week.
I used PaperTrey Ink's Star Prints set here on their kraft cardstock, combined with some Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe Flagstaff papers. Envelope is from the Wanted, Doc Holliday paper.
I stamped the star in Ocean Tides ink and overstamped that with a glue pad so that I could add some Prisma glitter to make the star shine. Buttons are from my stash--some from Autumn leaves Foof-a-La, and some from ButtonsGalore.com. Ribbon is PaperTrey's Ocean Tides Grosgrain, slightly shabbied with distress ink. The die cuts at the bottoms are from a Stampin' Up Top Notes die; I really liked the western flair that this shape lent.

A beautiful Sunday morning to you! I hadn't intended to post again this weekend, but I have a couple of pieces up in different places today and thought that I would at least link to them.
First is a creative use of rub-ons challenge on the Emma's Paperie Blog. Since this is only my second or third time using rub-ons, I'm not sure that it was especially creative, but it was definitely fun! There are some fabulous pieces posted--you'll want to scroll down to see ALL of them!
Second, I have a little canvas and grungepaper piece up on the CLASSroom blog today, with step-by-step explanation. The background was more creative than the grungepaper flowers, probably, but I do like grungepaper. It's like grungeboard, but thin enough to die-cut with a chemically etched die--hmmmm. . . I have a few of those! ;-D
