Everyday Button Bits is still on my all-time-favorites list, so I pulled it out again today for a test-ride. I don't have my Hawaiian Shores buttons yet, and none of the buttons in my extensive stash quite did the trick. So it finally occurred to me to use the same Papertrey Ink Green Boutique patterned papers to cut the balloons from. I think I like them! (Circles are cut with Spellbinders Classic Circle Nestabilities, and a 1/2" punch for the smallest balloon.)
I wanted to add some sky behind the balloons, so I used my Classic Square Nestability to die cut and mask my focal image, cutting a cloud-shaped mask from Eclipse Tape to use as a second template. Next I airbrushed the clouds with a BG13 marker and Copic Airbrush System, starting at the top and moving down. (That's what makes it darker at the top.) My mask is shown below.
For the card base, I cut the bottom of the striped layer and its Aqua Mist mat with a Labels Eight die. Ribbon is Hawaiian Shores Grosgrain. I really like the Green Boutique papers; they're fun and cheery--perfect for the Balloon trio.
