This month's Papertrey Ink group post involves Halloween Treats, and we have a fabulous little set to play with--Tiny Treats: Halloween. Remember how sweet Tiny Treats: Valentines is? Well, the Halloween version has all of the charm, coupled with a fabulous little frame image that I know I'll use repeatedly!
Although trick-or-treaters are sparse in our little corner of the woods, Benjamin and I don't need much of an excuse to make treats. That little pumpkin image enticed me to go online and find a candy mold that would coordinate with it. I ran across this Wilton Pumpkin Harvest mold and picked up some orange and green candy melts while I was at it. The pretzel rods are usually available at any grocery store.
We melted the candy in sandwich bags in the microwave and then cut a small hole in the corner of the bag to be able to squeeze the candy out. (We used a toothpick to get the green candy down into the little vines.) To wrap the pretzel rods, I used Papertrey Ink's small glassine bags on top, paired with some Saran Wrap on the bottom of the pretzel rods.
I die-cut the new Mat Stack Four shape (coming on August 15) from a single layer of Vintage Cream cardstock and a double layer of Terracotta Tile. (I placed the edge of the die right above the fold to leave a little hinge. The die cut through both layers except in a couple of places where had to trim the bottom layer with my scissors.)
To color the pumpkin images, I used the Copic markers shown here. The label on the pretzels is cut with PTI's Jar Label die. You'll want to see all of the Tiny Treats: Halloween posts; check out the links below. Thanks for visiting!
