Welcome! Today is a Papertrey Ink group post day showcasing the new Calendar Basics set and accessories. (These will be released on September 15.) I chose to work with the pre-printed 8-1/2" x 11" calendar pages and was lucky to find an 11" x 13" shadowbox frame on clearance at my local big box store--woohoo! I hot-glued a large string to the top sides of my shadowbox so that I could use mini clothes pins to hang the calendar pages.
I trimmed my calendar page by 1/16" on all four sides so that I could mat each page with a colored cardstock, Hawaiian Shores, in this case. Besides the Calendar Basics set, I also used the Day at the Beach set, as well as PTI's Vintage Buttons and a bit of Cosmo Cricket Snorkel paper.
In the blank squares at the bottom of the calendar, I used some of the smaller stamps from the Day at the Beach set. The Hawaiian Shores Stitched Grosgrain and Orange Zest button added a splash of color as a counterpoint to my colorful pictures on the top of the page.
I'm tentatively planning to share more pages on my blog as I get them made--you know, scrapbooking in small doses.
Although I can't post a picture of the entire Calendar Basics set, I can tell you that it's versatile for much more than calendars and scrapbooking. Several sentiments help with special occasions. The sentiment on the anniversary card below is from the Calendar Basics set too.
Be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey team did with the Calendar Basics set and its accessories; several sizes and configurations are available, and we've used a variety between us. Thanks for stopping by!
