You might want to grab your shades before going to visit the Two Peas Holiday Cardmaking Event this weekend--there's some serious shine going on! I have a couple of guest cards up on Two Peas today, playing along with Garden Girl Jen Gallacher's Adding Shine Challenge. All details except for marker colors are posted on Two Peas here, and I'll post pictures of the Copic markers that I used below. Thanks to Two Peas for inviting me to play along, and thanks to Jen for the shine-spiration!
Welcome to the tenth week of JustRite Stampers’ Wednesday feature, Twelve Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops! Every Wednesday until Thanksgiving we have been showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps. Don’t forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in their newly released CLING line of stamp sets, too, which you can find HERE.
For the month of November some of the designers have also thrown in some holiday gift ideas for any of your JustRite stamps, so be watching for those, too, on November’s hops. And in celebration of JustRite’s Tenth week of Christmas Blog Hops, here's a special offer: take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stampsnow through November 15. Don't forget to tell Santa!
For my focal image, I chose the snow family trio from one of JustRite's new cling sets, Sparky and Friends. Papers are from last year's Christmas paper stash, October Afternoon's Wrap the Presents from the Trim the Tree line. I colored the image with the Copic markers shown below, except for the E21, which was airbrushed to make my cardstock look a little less stark white. Spellbinders dies are oldies but goodies, a Classic Oval Large and a Classic Scalloped Ovals Small.

Welcome! I haven't forgotten about you; I've been working on my PTI November release projects. (Today's card details are in the third paragraph down from here if you want to cut to the chase.)
A couple of things have been on my mind for my Christmas cards this year. First, I'd like to have most of them be mailable without extra postage. Rick told me that he's been having to pay .82 a card when I get carried away with the bows and buttons. Honestly, I don't mind paying that for some of them, especially for people who tell me that they keep them as decorations from year to year! But most people (let's face it) don't. So, I'm working at paring down the thickness and still making the card so that I like it. :-)
My second solution? (Don't tell.) I bought a digital Christmas card package and plan to send some with just photographs this year. It's better than still being stressed on December 24 about getting the last few cards postmarked, isn't it? I'm getting old enough to realize that Christmas isn't about proving that I can be superwoman and do it ALL. I doubt that my son will even remember whether or not everyone on the list got hand made cards, but he might remember that Mama was crabby while she was trying to get it all done!
So, in keeping with my goal, tonight's card would be simple to mass produce and thin enough to mail with just one stamp. I chose a classy little Hero Arts stamp as the focal image, K5445 Branch and Flourish Tree. I heat-embossed it with Filigree gold embossing powder on shimmery white cardstock. The pale gold shimmery cardstock in the background is from Papertrey, while the darker gold mat layer is some that I ordered online a couple of years ago (same color as SU's shimmery gold). The sentiment is also from Hero Arts, CL 343 Holiday Sayings.
I hope you are having a great week--thanks for stopping by!
Welcome! How about another Tiny Treats: Christmas card today? I love this little bird image and thought I'd make him a bluebird to coordinate with Papertrey Ink's Christmas Prints papers.
He is stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored with the Copic markers shown below.
The sentiment is stamped in PTI's Pure Poppy ink. I used a glue pen to add just a bit of Prisma Glitter to the image as well. Vintage Buttons and Grosgrain Ribbon are both PTI's New Leaf. I used a Spellbinders Labels Eight die template to cut and emboss the bluebird.
How is your card stash progressing? Thanks for stopping by!
Today I have a sympathy card to share with you. Sympathy cards are sometimes a challenge to make, not something that any of us generally plan ahead for. Still, it's important for people to know that you care, and taking time to make something-whether it is a card or a meal or even a phone call--is one way to show that you care.
I chose JustRite's Sympathy Nested Sentiments set for my focal sentiment, cut and embossed with a SpellbindersPetite Ovals and matted with a Labels Fourteen die template. For the card base, I used a Grand Labels One. Hint: If you are trying to cut cleanly through two thicknesses of cardstock, i.e., a card base, try using a thinner cardstock. I used Neenah Natural White here, which is a lighter weight cardstock than the cream cardstock that I usually use for a card base. Papers are Cosmo Cricket's new Circa 1934 papers, shown here on the blog. I also used part of a Zva Creative black rhinestone flourish (CRB-03CA-114. Here is a similar one that I found in stock.)
Do you need to make a card for a friend? JustRite has a Show Your Support blog challenge going on this week if you happen to get one made. Have a fabulous day!
Hello! I've been playing with my Papertrey Ink Tiny Treats: Christmas set for a couple of days now. This is one of my favorite sets because I can make my cards quickly with it, and still have a cute, colored image on the card.
These are the Copic markers that I used, along with a Sand colored Spica Glitter pen, as well as a glue pen and Prisma glitter.

I wouldn't normally use the same stamp set for two blog hops in a row, but I had several questions about how to get the texture on the mittens, and I ventured into making a video to show you just how simple it is. I used the mitten stamp in the new JustRite Cling Sparky the Snowman set, coloring it with mostly four Copic markers: R22, R29, G21, G28, and a touch of 0 (colorless blender) on the mitten cuff. (You can find all of them here.)
So, here's hoping that my video will work; I'm still a newbie in that area!
In case you don't see the video for some reason, here's a detail view that shows the texture a bit better. I used Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather papers. The green plaid is from the Mini Deck, and the red is a sheet of Deck the Hollies. I also used two Spellbinders dies, the Nested Mittens and Tags Trio small tag(retired, but still in stock in some stores). (For those of you who had asked how the Spellbinders mitten went with the JustRite stamp, here you have it. If you don't mind a larger border, you can use it on the mitten. Otherwise, it makes a great mat layer too.)
Finally, I attached the mittens to the card front loosely so that they could be removed and draped on a Christmas tree branch--double-duty!

Welcome! I have a fun little altered printer tray project up here on the Classroom blog today. It uses a 7 Gypsies tray, Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 papers, and some family snapshots that I took in October. I'm thinking that this would be a perfect grandparent-gift. . . What do you think?
