Welcome! Today I am playing along with a JustRite Stampers Butterfly Garden blog hop. Butterfly Garden is one of several new May releases that will be showcased over the next few days.
To cut the shaped bottom of the card, I used a Spellbinders Grand Labels Four die template, placing my 5-1/2" cardstock bottom under the die and the rest of the card on top of it. I rolled it only far enough through my Grand Calibur to cut the edge, and then I rolled it back out the same way I had rolled it in to keep from getting an impression on the uncut part of the cardstock.
I cut the patterned paper layer the same way; I just had to trim one side to fit right after cutting it.
I started with the flowers, coloring them with the Copic markers shown above.
Next I colored the greenery. (YG61 is a new color--love it with YG63 and YG67!)
Here I added sky, yellow flowers, and the butterfly, though I went back to the butterfly and darkened it later.
Here I have darkened some of the colors for better contrast, as well as adding Spica Glitter pen in Mint, Pink, and Melon.
Patterned papers that I used are from Basic Grey's Hello Luscious 6" x 6" pad. Cardstock is Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Harvest Gold, and Scarlet Jewel. I dyed white seam binding with a Copic R59 re-inker. Spellbinders dyes, besides the Grand Labels Four, were Standard Circles Large and Labels Three. I used a line of Zva Creative pearls (PE-02CB-107) to trim the bottom edge of the card, clipping the plastic adhesive strip at the curves so that I could get the row of pearls to lay flat.
