Happy Fourth of July to you! I have just a quick post today since I really should be upstairs getting a meal put together instead of blogging. ;-) I had a really pretty little pad of paper that was perfect for today's card, Bo Bunny's 6" x 6" 36 Pages of Liberty Collection. I paired two different Papertrey Ink stamp sets with it, Military Stars and Est. 1776.
I used three Spellbinders die template sets as well: Nested Pennants for the little banner, Standard Circles Large for the plain circle, and Pinking Circles Small for the red mat layer. I hand-cut the star. Inks are PTI's Pure Poppy and Ranger's Denim (which is a little cooler temperature blue than Enchanted Evening, so it went with the patterned paper just a bit better).
Enough about the card details. I was thinking earlier how very different the Fourth of July feels to me today than it did when I was a younger. (I'm a child of the 60's, in case you were wondering.) When I sang "God Bless America" as a child, I think it was with almost an expectation that, of course, He would and indeed --well--almost should. (Call it the arrogance of youth, if you wish, kind reader.) Today when I stamped those same words, it was more of a quiet prayer than a demand. I certainly am not presuming to foster any political discussion. My heart just tells me that we need blessing. We need Him. . . Thank you for indulging a bit of rambling, and have a fabulous day!
