Loveliest of Seasons

Welcome! I'm home from Portland now for several days before leaving again for the Grand Rapids, Michigan Copic Certification classes. (There's still some room in the Grand Rapids Standard--want to join me? For more information, check HERE. It may be a while before I am back in lower Michigan, so if this is something you've been considering, you may want to attend the November 9 Standard Certification.)

Today's card is going into my Christmas card stash. I chose Papertrey Ink's Peaceful Pinecones stamp set and its coordinating dies for the focal image, as well as a sentiment from Over Under Easy Holiday Additions--loving the woodsy feel of this set! 

I hand-dyed some off white rayon seam binding with Copic Colorless Blender and YG97 Various Ink.  Ink colors for the stamped parts included Chocolate Chip, Fine Linen, and Ripe Avocado, aged with some Chamomile distress ink and a bit of sanding. Cardstock colors were Natural Cream and Ripe Avocado. That's it for today--thank you for visiting!

Peace to One and All

Welcome! This week JustRite Papercrafts and Petaloo are joining for a product exchange blog hop.  I am in Portland, Oregon this week, but I still have a Christmas card for you!

 

The Petaloo product that I chose to play with was the Floradoodle Mini Poinsettias. I paired the mini poinsettias with JustRite's Antique Christmas Tags One for the sentiment, along with its coordinating Antique Tags One Dies, and Lace Background Stamp on the kraft layer. I used Copic E42 and 0 Various Inks (reinkers) to dye the seam binding to match the kraft layer.  

In addition to the Antique Tags One Dies, I also used Spellbinders Grand Labels Eleven for both my card base and my kraft layer. On the red card front I used the Dainty Dots M-Bossabilities™ Folder to create some extra texture. Would you like to see what some other designers came up with? Amazing Paper Grace Kit 3

Welcome! Today I have an Amazing Paper Grace card to share with you. Have you seen Becca Feeken's November Amazing Paper Grace Kit yet? I used one of the dies and a couple of the stamps from her November kit, but you can see the projects in the kit  HERE.

This set contain a great variety of sentiments, and those decorative corner pieces are beautiful as well!

In addition to the kit dies, I also used a Spellbinders French Frills die template for the sentiment, airbrushing my Lavender Moon cardstock with a Copic RV63 and Copic Airbrush System. I added some self-adhesive pink rhinestones from Zva Creative and dyed the seam binding with Copic RV93 and 0 various inks. A bit of sanding, distress ink application, and stitching finished my card. Patterned papers are from Carta Bella's Beautiful Moments 6" x 6" pad.

My card that I wanted to share uses a Mo Manning digital image, Chocolate Smile, colored with my Copic markers--love that smile! I also used some October Afternoon papers and a couple of Spellbinders die templates (Splendid Circles and Grand Labels Eleven). Blessed to Have Friend Like You

Welcome! While I was in Philadelphia, I colored a sweet little Saturated Canary image that had been in my stash for a quite while; the Ava image was a freebie from THIS Saturated Canary Blog post. (Scroll down to the bottom of the post and click on the image to go to a file sharing site, but be sure to check out Krista's other fabulous images HERE in her Etsy store as well!)

I used the Copic Sketch markers pictured above, as well as two more: BG90 and BG93. I had colored the image in the hotel room, but when I came home to try to pair it with papers from my stash, I had nothing with an intense light blue. I did have one paper pad with a muted warm blue, however; so I layered the BG90 and BG93 over the top of my BG20's to warm up the blues and pull them in to an acceptable tonal range . (Warm grays would have worked for this as well.)

Here is the blue BEFORE I added the BG90's. (Sorry about the picture quality of the picture above, as well as the picture of the markers; I did not have my good camera with me in Philadelphia.)

Here is the blue AFTER I added the BG90's. I could have layered warm grays as well, and that probably would have done about the same thing. 

The sentiment is from the 6" x 6" Pebbles Sunny Side pad that I used for background papers. I trimmed and embossed it with a Spellbinders Classic Squares Large die template, and then matted it with a die cut from the Grommet Tags set. Oatmeal seam binding is dyed with Copic colorless blender, RV02, and RV04 inks, and the pearl brad is from Creative Expressions.

Papertrey Ink October 2012 Release in Review

Good morning! My favorite papercrafting season has to be fall, when all of the Christmas lines come out! I have several cards for you today using Papertrey Ink's October 2012 Release.  First up is Peaceful Pinecones. I opted for blue-green tones instead of forest green, thinking that the blue greens looked snowier--just a little color twist, and a lot of Chamomile Vintage Distress ink on the edges!

Premium Friend: Friends Antique Labels One

Welcome! Today I have a friendship card to share using the new JustRite Friends Antique Labels One and Embroidered Background Stamp, as well as the Lace Medallion Labels set from last month. I know it's fall, but sometimes a girl just needs some summer color punches, doesn't she?

To cut my shapes, I used a couple of JustRite Custom die sets, Antique Labels One dies, Antique Tags One dies, and Nested Oval Medallion Label dies. To make that scored edge around the outside, I used my Scor-Pal and embossed on the 1/4" line all the way around the green card front layer.

To get that inside light pink background on the second layer from the top, I used a Copic R32 and a Copic Airbrush System with my die left in place as a mask. The seam binding was dyed with a Copic R32 reinker. For the little Battenburg Lace layer (from Lace Medallion Labels), I heat embossed detail white embossing powder on cardstock-weight vellum, and then used the back side so that it would not be shiny. Wising You Joy Tag: Holiday Cheer Ornaments

Good morning! I am on my way to Philadelphia this morning but have a project to share today anyway.  This is day two of JustRite's October Release, focusing on the Holiday Cheer Ornaments set shown below on the left. (Click for a larger view.) I paired it with a new background, Embroidered Background Stamp.

One thing that I really like about the Holiday Cheer Ornaments set is how many of my Spellbinders dies it coordinates with--2010 Heirloom Ornaments, 2011 Heirloom Ornaments, and 2012 Heirloom Ornaments!

In addition to the Holiday Cheer Ornaments and Embroidered Background stamps, I also used the Lace Medallion Labels set, cut with a Nested Oval Medallion Labels die, and the Noel Christmas Ornaments set, paired with the Antique Tags One dies. I hand-cut the little ornament hanger top, and I airbrushed the inside of the sentiment with a Copic RV23 marker and airbrush system.  The die template that I used for my tag base was a Jar Labels die.

Give Thanks

Welcome! I have been working madly on mostly Christmas release projects, trying to get them finished before I leave for my Philadelphia/Collegeville Copic Certification classes this weekend. But after all of that Christmas paper, stamps, etc, along with watching the gold leaves fall like rain today, I really wanted to make a FALL card tonight. I looked through my stash and found this sweet Lockhart Stamp Company image, Autumn Gate, and I don't think I've ever even used this one before!

These are the Copic markers that I used on the Autumn Gate image. I used the E40's on the door and the E80's on the corn stalks. The blue-violets were all for shadows. I hope that the rest is pretty self-explanatory. :-)

I used three Spellbinders products in conjunction with the image, two of which were brand new for me. I've had my Spellbinders Classic Squares Small for a long time, but Marvelous Squares (the white frame) and the Dainty Dots M-Bossabilities Folder are both new to my toolbox.  The Dainty Dots folder is huge; you can emboss pretty much an entire 8-1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock with it!

So Very Grateful

Welcome! Saturday is World Card Making Day, so I wanted to be sure to post a card tonight in celebration of the event. For my sentiment I used a Papertrey Ink set, Framed Out #7, along with the new Harlequin Die Cover Plate (which is, unfortunately, out of stock right now; however, I did notice that the Hexagon Cover Plate is in stock right now, if you are still looking for one of those). 

How about those pretty papers? They are from a Carta Bella Traditions 6" x 6" paper pad. I wish I had a quilt in these patterns and colors! Inks are PTI's Enchanted Evening and Terracotta Tile.
