Welcome! It's been a while since I had a chance to post; we took a family member to a routine doctor's appointment last week, and it turned into several days in ICU/CCU. . . You never know what a day will bring! Thankfully, he is coming home tomorrow, as far as we know. I came back home last night to get a few things done on the home front.
On to my card. Have I mentioned a few times how tough clean and simple design is for me? I love CAS! I just think I spend more time redoing CAS cards than I do my regular layered cards. The photo at the top was my first try on this card using Papertrey Ink's Holiday Cheer Stamp set. I used Silver Shimmer cardstock and White Shimmer cardstock, along with Silver Filigree Detail embossing powder, silver metallic cord, and some red self-adhesive rhinestones. (Okay, they were actually Raspbery Rhinestones to begin with, but I colored them with a Copic R27 marker to turn them red.)
But then I wasn't sure that the embossed sentiment showed up well enough on the silver cardstock, so I tried a new version, close-up shown below, in which I cut another layer of White Shimmer cardstock, and used a die from the Holiday Cheer Die Collection to cut the wreath shape first. Next I very carefully measured and cut the sides, added silver paint pen to the outside edges, and mounted the white layer using foam tape. My thirteen year old told me that the first version was better. . . Gee, if I'd only gotten his advice sooner, I could have skipped that second hour of work! ;-}
I will have a post Thursday morning for Operation Write Home--love that group! Thanks for stopping by today.
