Welcome to the first day of the October JustRite Papercraft release--yes, even though it's still September! Today's featured stamp set is the Sunflowers Vintage Labels Five cling stamp set, pictured below. Besides enjoying coloring the lovely image, I also had a lot of fun getting inky and distressing my cardstock for this one. I started with some patterned paper (Bo Bunny 12" Autumn Song Twilight), though it ended up being mostly covered up with embossing powder and airbrusing. It was a great base though! ;-)
I used Copic markers to color the sunflower image, then trimmed it closely and mounted it with foam tape. I also used my Copic airbrush system and a B02 Copic Sketch marker to create the blue sky behind my sunflower, using the Labels Five die as a mask. COPIC Leaf colors: YG01, YG03, YG17, and BV01, BV04 for shadows. Blossom petal colors: YR20, Y13, Y19, Y24, 0, and BV01 for shadows. Sunflower Center colors: YG11, YG25, E23, and E79.
I heat embossed the background with detail white embossing powder after stamping in Versamark ink with the the French Rose cling background stamp. Next I airbrushed with a couple of my Copic markers (Y19, YG25) and Copic Airbrush system on top of the white embossing powder. Next I used a dark distress ink on the edges and scraped them to distress and curl the edges. I used two Spellbinders die template sets including 5" x 7" Enchanted Labels Twenty-Eight (as decorative elements at the top and bottom of the focal panel) and Charmed, I'm Sure (for the Sunflower tag). Finally, I stitched my background to a Terracotta Tile card base, and attached a hand-dyed ribbon and a vintage button as accents.
