***Copic Classes Page updated this week***
Welcome! Today I have a masculine birthday card to share. I pulled another goodie out of the PTI box that I ordered last week; I've been wanting this Text Block: Birthday die for several weeks now, so I finally ordered it! I knew that I wanted to create an airbrushed gradation to go with this die, but I wasn't sure whether I wanted to cut the words from the airbrushed piece, or leave the words in white and use the airbrushed piece as a background. I finally decided upon the background version.
First I used a scrap of Stampers Select White cardstock and airbrushed it with my Copic Airbrush System and the five Copic Sketch markers shown above (YG06, YG17, BG07, B26, and B66).
Next I cut my Text Block: Birthday die focal image from white cardstock and lined it with a piece of clear cardstock cut just barely smaller than the die cut, gluing the die cut to the clear panel. I used thin foam tape cut into narrow strips to line all of the edges of my die cut panel, then scraped up some confetti (scraps from a Parisian Lace Doily die cut), and some chunky glitter to add as my shaker material. TIP: Don't add too much shaker material. I almost always add too much shaker material. One of these days I will be bright enough to add half of what I *think* I need, and I'll get it just right! I could have used a little less here. . .
Here is my complete card front with the shaker part all sealed up. Since it's a guy-card, I avoided my go-to pinks and bows. :-) I'm sticking a Red Lobster gift card inside, so I'm pretty sure he'll like it, even with no bows!
