Moo-chas Gracias: MFT Release Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the My Favorite Things Stamps September Release Countdown! Today I have a thank you card to share using the new Animal Farm stamp set and coordinating Die-namics. I really wanted to make him a shaker card, but I wasn't sure exactly what might be floating in the air on a farm! ;-)

I used Die-namics 31 as a little frame for my farm animals, coloring a simple background with my Copic markers (YG13, BG00, and BG01). The stamped background is Make Your Mark, stamped with Kraft die ink. Easy-peasy!

PTI Stamp-a-faire 2017: Seventh Anniversary Tradition WOOL

Good morning! I'm excited to share a couple of pictures from my guest post HERE on Nichole's blog for Papertrey Ink's tenth anniversary celebration, Stamp-a-faire 2017! My chosen anniversary material was wool, mostly because I love the thick, smooth, clean-cutting PTI 100% Wool felt.

I included a ten-minute video on Nichole's blog showing exactly how I used PTI dies to make my wool felt cookies, which were inspired by a picture that I saw on Pinterest from Sweet Emma Jean's Etsy shop. (Sweet Emma Jean sells marvelous felt patterns, including several doll patterns that I don't see on her site right now, but that I bought a while back and need to find time to actually use. . .)

I'm planning on dropping in for a visit at the PTI Stamp-a-faire forum later today after I get home. Maybe I'll "see you" there!

PTI Stamp-a-faire 2017

Just a quick note to let you know that I had the opportunity to participate in Papertrey Ink's Tenth Anniversary Celebration--Stamp-a-faire 2017! Look For the Stars: Copic Various Inks Background

Welcome! Today I have a starry card and a fun stepped out background to share.  I started with glossy cardstock and three colors of Copic Various Inks (reinkers)--B23, B28, and G07.

I randomly dripped reinkers on my glossy cardstock, moving the ink around and dabbing it with a scrap of bubble wrap. Next I spritzed with Copic colorless blender to get more texture. (Also, any time I'm not in love with a reinker-on-glossy-cardstock background, spritzing colorless blender is usually the solution! I usually buy it in the large bottles since the large bottles are much more economical than the smaller bottles.)

While I still had some wet ink, I lightly sprinkled a few bits of Nuvo Silver Bullion Gilding Flakes, thinking that they would probably stick to a few areas, and they did! It's looking a little like deep space to me now.

Finally, I die-cut the word "Stars" from silver sparkle cardstock, cutting two extra layers from heavy white cardstock to glue to the back for added stability. I heat embossed "When it's dark, look for the" in detail silver embossing powder on black cardstock and split it so that I could pull it down into the loop of the "r" in stars (from the MFT Stamps Written in the Stars stamp set). Finally, I used a metallic silver paint pen to edge my inky background and X-Press It foam tape to pop up the "Stars" sentiment. Easy and fun!

Tic Tac Toe-tally Awesome: MFT X's and O's Card Kit

It's release night for the My Favorite Things Stamps X's and O's Card Kit! I kept tonight's card simple--mailable without extra postage even. ;-)

I stamped random tic tac toe patterns on my Smooth White cardstock, remembering all of the random scraps of paper that I had filled up with tic tac toe boards during my first dozen years or so. . .

Love Always Wins: MFT X's and O's Card Kit

Welcome! It's August Kit time at My Favorite Things Stamps, and this month's kit is the X's and O's Card Kit. On today's card, I used hearts and O's rather than X's, but they are both fun! I knew that I wanted to use the "Love Always Wins" sentiment, and the hearts fit in a bit better for that. 

I used the square shaker and frame Die-namics included in the X's and O's Kit to contain my tic tac toe board, pairing it with Tiny Hearts Brights patterned paper.

Smiles Begin with You: MFT Release Replay

Welcome! It's Release Replay day for the My Favorite Things Stamps August Release, and I'd like to share another card using the Wild About You stamp set. I paired the alligator image with the "So many of my smiles" sentiment, thinking it would make a perfect boy card.

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I use to color the Wild About You alligator image and airbrush the background--easy-peasy! I used my Copic Colorless Blender marker to push some of the green ink and get texture on the alligator's skin.

I Miss Your Voice: MFT Release Day

Pssst--the My Favorite Things August Stamp Release is now live! I've used a Pure Innocence stamp set tonight, A Phone Call Away. I love using a bit of paper-piecing with these little cuties! This one needed polka dotted leggings. ;-)

Shown above are the Copic Sketch Markers that I used to color the A Phone Call Away image and airbrush the background. My first airbrushed background used YR31, but I decided that blue/B12 was more suitable since she's presumably blue that she misses hearing a certain someone's voice.

For patterned papers, I used the Party Patterns Paper Pack. I used X-Press It Blending card for the focal image, then Sour Apple as a mat layer and Smooth White cardstock as a case base.  That new Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics is pretty fun too! So, are you ready to go see the August Release yet?

Sealed with a Wish: MFT Release Countdown Day 1

Welcome to to Day 1 of the My Favorite Things Stamps August Release Countdown--tomorrow's the big day!  For today's card I used the Big Birthday Wishes and the In Bloom stamp sets in a different-for-me color combination. (I mean, who knew you could stamp without pink?) I was going for modern and understated.

After finishing my card outside, I had an extra flower and some extra leaves sprigs, so I used them inside, along with another sentiment from Big Birthday Wishes.

A few little dots of Sea Breeze Nuvo Jewel Drops finished my Sno Cone flower centers and the space around the bouquet. I'm warming up to these little dots; they may become an obsession. . . ;-)

Wild About You: MFT Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to Day Three of the My Favorite Things Stamps August Release Countdown! Today I'm sharing a card made with the new Wild About You stamp set. Aren't these little guys sweet? I couldn't decide which one to use. . . so I thought I'd use several of them together and create a scene.

Shown above are the Copic Markers that I used to color the Wild About You images.

You can't see much sky, but it is airbrushed with a Copic B12 and the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. I layered die cut leaves to make a jungle, then layered my three animals. I wanted to use the new Essential Speech Bubble Die-namics for the sentiment, but I had room for only the short bubble. (That's why it says "Wild About You" instead of "I'm Wild About You.)

You're Fab-BOO-lous: MFT Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of the August My Favorite Things Stamps Release Countdown! I'd like to share a card made with the Fab-BOO-lous Friends stamp set today; I loved coloring these little guys! I wanted to include several of them on my card, so I paired them with the Stitched Triple Pee-a-Boo Window and Edge Die-namics to let them peek out of the windows. I airbrushed a white panel behind the windows with Copic YR31 and V95--darkness on the perimeter with warm light in the center of each window.

My oops moment: I realized after I finished and uploaded my card that I had flip-flopped the traditional colors for Frankenstein. Rather than being green, he's more like a mechanical grape with a strawberry hull for hair! Oh, well--he's cute enough to pull it off. ;-)

Here's the inside--just a sentiment, and little bit of airbrushing, along with a levitating cute little ghostly guy.
