United We Flourish: You Are Pawsome!

Welcome! Today several designers from the My Favorite Things Stamps team are showcasing a special stamp set, Good Friends, in conjunction with Ellen Hutson's United We Flourish campaign. Good Friends is a limited time set, available only through Ellen Hutson.

I colored my Good Friends images with Copic markers: Warm grays for the kitty, and E11/E13/15/E19 for the dog. I airbrushed my background, leaving my rounded rectangles die in place to mask the edges. Papers are from MFT's Fun and Frolic 6 x 6 paper pad.

MFT Snowflake Splendor Card Kit: Available NOW

The My Favorite Things Stamps Snowflake Splendor Card Kit is now available HERE! 

I chose a simple layout, randomly stamping snowflakes in Versamark ink before heat embossing with Bridal Tinsel Embossing Powder. Next I die-cut more snowflakes from vellum and glued them onto the embossed snowflakes. I dotted glitter drops in the centers to hide the glue. The joy sentiment and silver strip are cut from Silver Sparkle cardstock, included in the Snowflake Splendor Card Kit.

Joy: MFT Snowflake Splendor Card Kit

It's almost release time for the My Favorite Things Stamps Snowflake Splendor Card Kit, which will be available tonight (Tuesday) at 9pm Eastern Time.  Today I have another fairly simple snowflake card to share with you. I first cut a curved panel with Stitched Basic Edges 2 Die-namics and then lightly airbrushed it with a Copic B24, leaving the die in place to mask the scalloped edge. 

After the airbrushed part had dried for a couple of minutes, I heat embossed snowflakes with silver embossing powder. (If you have any stickiness at ALL left on your airbrushed panel you will want to run an embossing buddy over it so that the embossing powder doesn't stick to the blue field.) Next, I die-cut more snowflakes from the silver sparkle cardstock in the Snowflake Splendor card kit, and glued them on top of the embossed snowflakes, dotting centers with White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops. After heat-embossing the Joy sentiment on my card base, I used foam tape to raise the snowflake panel above my card base and finished it with some metallic string (May Arts, I think).

Christmas Greetings: MFT Snowflake Splendor Card Kit

Welcome! It's October kit release time at My Favorite Things Stamps, and today I have a Christmas card to share using the new Snowflake Splendor Card Kit--or part of the contents of the kit anyway! (I used the Snowflake Splendor stamp set, Snowflake Splendor Die-namics, and Translucent Vellum.) The link below for the Snowflake Splendor Card Kit will work on Tuesday evening, October 17, at 9pm Eastern time.

I heat embossed several snowflakes on the Pink Lemonade cardstock with Bridal Veil embossing powder, and then die-cut and layered velum snowflakes on top of the heat embossed snowflakes. I finished off the centers of the snowflakes with White Blizzard Nuvo Glitter Drops, dotting a few more drops around randomly as well. The longest part was just waiting for the glitter drops to dry. ;-)

My LAST Copic Coloring Classes of 2017: Austin, Texas

Just wanted to pop in with a quick note since some of you may not be on the Imagination International mailing list yet: my last Copic classes of 2017 are coming up in Austin, Texas on November 10-11. The same classes are being offered in Columbus, Ohio (October 20-21 with Cindy Lawrence); Atlanta (November 3-4 with Cindy Lawrence); and in Kansas City (November 3-4 with Michelle Houghton).

As far as I know, these are the last of the More Whimsical Faces and Hair, Vintage Values and Monotones, and Dress for Success Clothing and Accessories Workshops. So if you have been thinking about taking these classes, time's getting short to do so. Here is a link to the classes page, in case you're interested. Hoping to see some of you in Austin!

Snow Globe Christmas Greetings: MFT October Release

Welcome! It's that time--October My Favorite Things Stamps Release time, that is! I saved a Snow Globe card for tonight since I was away from home when the Snow Globe kit first came out earlier this month. I love shaker cards, and I love snow (unless I have to shovel it)--so what's not to love here? 

I die-cut all of my Snow Globe Scene pieces from Smooth White cardstock and then colored them with my Copic markers, which are all listed at the bottom of my post in the supply list. (Hey, I'd rather color a few tiny pieces than have to pick up and throw away that many different pieces of wrongly colored cardstock scraps!) My shaker filler is Diamond Dust glitter--a chunky, glassy-looking glitter that sounds great when you shake it.

Merry Christmas, "Deer": MFT Release Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the My Favorite Things Stamps October Release Countdown!  At 9pm Eastern time tomorrow night (Tuesday, October 3), the October release will be live and all of the new products shown in the past few days will be available.

For today's card, I chose an image from the new Dashing Deer stamp set, paired with the Merry Christmas Circle Frame. Kraft cardstock and colors always say "homespun holidays" to me, so I'm using Kraft again tonight. To get a two-toned bookmark strip, I simply die-cut the top of the bookmark twice (kraft and blueberry) and glued a trimmed Blueberry piece of cardstock over the Kraft base. I used Natural CS behind the deer to make him stand out a little more than he would have on kraft CS.
