Full of Treats: MFT Stamps Release Countdown Day3

Welcome to Day 3 of the My Favorite Things Stamps April Release Countdown! I chose to use the new Pure Innocence Birthday Piñata stamp set, pairing it with patterned paper from the Bundles of Blossoms Bold paper pack, and tying in that piñata fringed tissue paper theme with the Fringed Scallop Borders Die-namics.

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Birthday Piñata image. I airbrushed the background with Copic BG02 and YG17; it's a little darker than my airbrushed backgrounds usually are, but since the little girl and piñata are in darker value, the background worked better darker too.

Here for You: MFT Stamps Release Countdown Day 4

Welcome to day four of the My Favorite Things Stamps April Release Countdown! I chose to use the sweet little Birdie Brown Rain or Shine set for today's release post--she's cute as button, and there's a coordinating boy set too!

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Rain or Shine images. I used Copic B04 and YG13 to airbrush a simple background, leaving the Stitched Dome Die-namics in place too mask the edges of the shape. 

I chose patterned paper from the Party Patterns Paper Pack for both the background and her rain slicker--everybody needs a cheerful coat on a rainy day! I divided the sentiment, putting half of it on the inside of the card: it was a two-liner, and I didn't have room for all of it on the card front.

It's the Big, BIG Day for Creative Color Café!

I am tickled pink to be announcing along with Cindy Lawrence that our first Creative Color Café Concepts in Coloring classes are finally open! Cindy and I have been working diligently behind the scenes for a few months now to develop new curriculum and find fabulous images from stamp companies to incorporate into that curriculum. 

Our first classes will be in the Peachtree City area of Atlanta on May 4-5, and our second set of classes will be in Boston on June 1-2.

So Worth Celebrating: MFTWSC377

Welcome! Today I played along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Sketch Challenge 377 (WSC377). My first inclination was to use flowers, of course. . . but I restrained myself and decided to go with these adorable chicks from Birthday Chicks instead.

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Birthday Chicks images.

I airbrushed a simple background with a couple of Copic markers and the Copic Airbrush System--no masking needed, except for the leaving the die in place while I airbrushed to protect the stitched edges of the rectangle.

Birthday Bear Hugs: Bundle of Balloons Card Kit

The Bundle of Balloons Card Kit from My Favorite Things Stamps is now available! In tonight's card, I paired the Bundle of Balloons kit with an older stamp set, Birthday Bears. This card is for a crazy little man who will be five in a few weeks!

Five balloons have been added to boxes in the Bundle of Balloons kits for five lucky winners. I hope that YOU are one of them!

I used the Mini Clouds stencil to airbrush a sky in the background with a Copic B04 marker, and grass with G43.

You Make Me Smile: Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown

Welcome! I'm sharing a second peek of the new My Favorite Things Stamps March card kit, Bundle of Balloons! For today's card, I die-cut my balloons from white cardstock and colored them with my Copic markers (listed in the supply list at the bottom) rather than cutting them from colored cardstock. I paired the Bundle of Balloons set with a previously released sentiment stamp set, All About You, spelling out the "You" in balloons. 

Five balloons have been added to boxes in the Bundle of Balloons kits for five lucky winners. I hope that YOU are one of them!

 

I lightly airbrushed a Copic B01 background to give my balloons a subtle color field on which to float. (You know that if you are a distress ink lover, you can do  similar thing with your sponge, right? I just feel more confident with my airbrushing abilities than my sponging abilities!) My patterned paper is from the Party Patterns pack. Finally, I taped (from the back) the white letters back into the colored balloons and used a glue pen to adhere glitter to my letters. Coloring the balloons gives them a little softer look than cutting them from solid cardstock, in my opinion. I like it both ways--I just like to be able to use the same set and get a different look occasionally.

Welcome! I'm excited to get to share a peek of the new My Favorite Things Stamps March card kit, Bundle of Balloons!  The other thing I'm excited about is the giveaway below--check it out!

I kept my card fairly simple and graphic to go with the style of the balloons. The only tricky part was getting my little cotton strings to lay exactly how I wanted them too. (And you could save yourself that extra step if you simply use the die-cut strings that come with the balloon kit. But you know me. I like to complicate things. . .) All Kinds of Amazing: MFT March Release Replay

Welcome! It's March Release Replay time at My Favorite Things Stamps, and I pulled out my Pressed Flowers and Anything-but-Basic Friendship sets. Hey, when you still have snow on the ground, you need to create your own Spring!

I chose shades of pinks, purples, and greens (all listed below), for my stamped and die-cut flowers, and then added some simple airbrushing with a BG01 Copic Sketch marker. Easy!

A Handmade Hug: MFTWSC375

Welcome! Today I played along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Sketch Challenge 375 (WSC375).  It was a simple sketch. The repeating circle motif reminded me of flower blossoms, so I pulled out the Sketchy Flowers set and went from there.

I chose several coordinating purples in MFT inks and cardstock, stamped and die-cut my flowers, and then airbrushed a rectangular shape for my flowers to sit on (Copic YG05, BG01). I chose a sentiment from the recently release Beautiful Day set and cut it with a tag strip die from Blueprints 13. I used a Wink of Stell clear brush to shade every other section in my tulip-like flowers, and I added a dollop of glue and glitter to the center of the rounded flower before attaching my flowers with foam tape.

So Excited for You: MFT March Release Available Now

Welcome! It's that time--March My Favorite Things Stamps Release time, that is! I chose the So Many Yays Die-namics and Yay for You stamp set to create a card that I thought would work well for a graduation card. 

I used blue and green distress inks to watercolor a sheet of watercolor paper and die-cut my "Yay" from that sheet. I used a loaded brush to flick a spatter pattern on my background and then added one spritz of water to soften the spatter a bit. Finally, I added a few little 3 and 4 mm clear round drops--love those tiny ones!

My son just told me that he needs ten thank you notes for robotics club to send out. I think I'll be casing this same design, but using the MFT Die-namics You Trio and All About You for his card set!
