Snow Special to Me: MFT WSC 413

Welcome! Today I'm playing along with a My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge, WSC413. I took some liberties with the sketch; it had five squares down the left side, and I ended up using three of the five, mostly because I had a perfect die to create three squares but not five. ;-) I chose the penguins from the Snow Special set because they were small enough to fit relevant parts into my windows and because I hadn't had a chance to play with this particular November release set yet. 

I've been traveling for several days and didn't get a chance to make a Copic Color Map for this images, but the Copies that I used were: C0, C3, C6, 110; Y32, Y38; (penguins); R30, 0 (cheeks); YG21, YG25, YG17; R32, R35, R39; BG000, BG01, BG45, BG49; RV21, RV34, RV66 (clothing)

Here is what my card looks like with the windows shut. I dyed thin white silk ribbon with my Copic markers and added a well-glued jewel as my handle by which to lift the window.

Snowy Woods: MFT WSC 412

Welcome! Today I'm playing along with a My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge, WSC412. This one really was a bit of a challenge for me! I scrambled to think what I might have that would work well for the sketch, and I decided to turn it on its side and use a strong vertical image, cropped to fit the sketch. 

Maybe the snowy drifts don't exactly fit into the sketch. . . but I'm from Upper Michigan--I had to have snow! Finally, because I am way behind on making Christmas cards for this year, I stamped a sentiment from the Tweet Holidays stamp set as my sentiment.

With Love, From Santa: MFT November Release is LIVE!

Welcome! It's November Release Day for My Favorite Things Stamps! All of the fun new MFT stamp sets and Die-namics that you've been seeing in blogland over the past few days are now available. I paired the new Here Comes Santa Claus stamp set with last month's Candy Land Paper Pack for today's card. 

Shown above are the Copic markers that I used to color Santa and his pile of gifts. I airbrushed a subtle background with C3 for the shadow and B23 for the sky. The shape he's in is a circle, trimmed on two sides.

Peace on Earth: MFT Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome to Day 1 of the My Favorite Things Stamps November Release countdown! Today I chose the Christmas Tree Window Die-namics and the Beautiful Blessings stamp set to create a simple card. I used the silver foil cardstock for the tree, and it's a bear to get a good photograph of that cardstock! But it's so beautiful shiny in person--almost like a mirror finish. I used my glue pen to add some tiny lines of glitter on both the top of the snow banks and on the tree trimmings. The sky is airbrushed with Copics--what else? ;-) (You could always use blended inks if you feel more comfortable with those; I just keep my airbrush out and ready to go all the time.)

Hello, Little One: MFT Release Countdown Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the My Favorite Things Stamps November Release Countdown! At 10am Eastern time on Tuesday, November 13, the November release will be live, and all of the new products shown in the past few days will be available. Today I chose the Unbearably Cute stamp set and Die-namics, and paired it with an older stamp set, Hello, Little One. The bear cubs made me think of babies and baby showers or congratulations cards, so I went that direction with it rather than making a Christmas or Winter card. I also used the Snow Globe Die-namics and a dome shaker so that my bear cub could sleep on soft snow.

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the bear cub and to airbrush the sky.

Welcome to Day 4 of the My Favorite Things Stamps November Release Countdown! I chose the Ready, Set, Snow stamp set and Die-namics set to play with today. This cool snowboarding dude made me want to color him--he's awesome! 

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Ready, Set, Snow images. As you can probably tell, I had fun with those snow googles! I looked up snow goggles on Google images, and found some cool Oakleys that I pulled color inspiration from.

Warm and Feathered Hugs: MFT Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the My Favorite Things Stamps November Release Countdown!  I really enjoy making Christmas cards, so the last couple of releases are right down my alley! Today I'm sharing a card using the Warm & Feathered Hugs stamp set, another of Stacey Yacula's new sets. 

Shown above are the Copic markers that I used to color the Warm & Feathered Hugs image. I airbrushed a simple two-toned background for a cold Winter sky, Copic BV02 and B32.
