Welcome! Today I'm playing along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Birthday Project Challenge. This week's Birthday Project Challenge involves using numbers on the birthday card. It just so happens that one of our friends is turning 50 this week. Honestly, I'm not usually one to tease about age, but I knew that she would get a kick out of it rather than being secretly offended; so I figured I was safe. ;-) I chose to create a shaker card with the Happy Birthday Candles Die-namics.
To make the candles longer, I die-cut twice, repositioning the die to cut the bottom edge lower. The glittered fifty is from Pop-Up Numbers, and my sentiment from Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings.
I hope you get a chance to go see the other Birthday Project Challenge pieces and play along with us--remember that there is a chance to win awesome MFT products IF you play along! Thanks for stopping by,
Welcome! Today I've played along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge, WSC425. I have a couple of cards to share with you, both using the same sketch and stamp/die-namics set, but one being more feminine and one more masculine. For the card above, I stamped the letters in two colors in ink to get an ombre look. I inked the stamp first with the lighter color of ink, and then added some darker ink on one edge of the letters. Then I stamped in the same place a couple more time with just the lighter into get a better blend. I stamped using my MISTI tool so that I could keep re-stamping in the same place. I don't think I would try this without a MISTI since I stamped probably four times in the same place.
For my second card, I used a cropped candle that I cut with the Happy Birthday Candles Die-namics to cover the "I" in birthday. Easy peasy! (I created two supply lists at the bottom of my post--the first one for the top card, and the second one for this card.)

Welcome! Today I'm playing along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Tips and Tricks Challenge. I have two cards and a LOT of stepped out pictures today, so just keep scrolling down if you're all about the pictures. I chose the new Party Penguins set to feature today.
First I wanted to share a tidbit about stamping and die-cutting the penguins. YOU probably thought of this before you stamped three unusable images, but me? Well, um, er, I figured it out AFTER I stamped my first three penguins. ;-) The simplest way to get the penguins aligned perfectly is to (1) stamp the penguin body, (2) die-cut the penguin body, and finally (3) stamp the legs and beak part of the image after die-cutting. Yes, it's really obvious to me now, but it wasn't when I stamped my first three penguins!
Easy peasy, right? Yes, IF you do it in the right order. . .
Next I wanted to share a really simple Wobble Spring action for my penguin cards. I purchased these Wobble Springs from MFT Stamps, but I don't think they carry them any more. If you check your favorite craft store, you'll probably find some; the package is pictured in the photo below.
My wobble spring is larger than my penguin, so I had to cut to down to size. I wanted to leave as much adhesive area on the spring mechanism as possible, so I used my penguin die as a pattern, tracing the inside of the die onto my spring mechanism with a Sharpie.
The springs are pretty tough, so use appropriate scissors to cut them--not your best ribbon cutting or detail paper trimming scissors! My Tonic scissors worked well for this application.
My spring is now slightly smaller than my penguin's body, so it won't show when I attach it to my card front. (It doesn't have to be perfect since it doesn't show, so don't stress over your fussy cutting on this.)
Both this card and the one below it feature a wobble spring; it's a really simple way to add movement to your card.
The supply list below lists supplies for the card pictured directly above. The solid black front card additionally uses the Precious Polaroids Die-Namics.

Welcome! Today I'm playing along with the My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge, WSC423. Even though Bitty Bears has been out for quite a while, I hadn't used it yet, so it's new to me. When I needed six different images to fit WSC423, I looked through my collection for some smaller images, and these little guys whispered, "Pick us!"
Shown above are the Copic colors that I used to color the Bitty Bears images. (Since I used the same first three colors on all of the bears, you can probably figure out that the R81 and R85 were for the cupcake frosting, the YR31 for the cupcake paper, etc.. The BV20 and BV23 were for cast shadows on the bears, and the warm grays for the shadows beneath and to the left of the bears.)

Welcome! It's February Release Day for My Favorite Things Stamps! All of the fun new MFT stamp sets and Die-namics that you've been seeing over the past few days are now available. I paired images from the new Birth-Yay stamp set with the older Petite Plaid Paper Pack for a sweet birthday card. I loved ALL of the Birth-Yay images and had used the largest image on card earlier in the release countdown. But I wanted to play with arranging some of the individual animals as well!
Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Birth-Yay images. The background is airbrushed with B05 and YG63.
Again, all of the new February products are now available, and the links below should all work. Each of the MFT Design Team member AND some amazing guests will have projects to share today, so please check out the MFT Stamps Blog for many more cool projects and products, as well as a chance to win fabulous prizes.Good luck on the giveaway, and thank you for visiting,
Welcome to Day 1 of the My Favorite Things Stamps February Release Countdown! How about these little penguin dudes? They are from the Party Penguins stamp set, another February My Favorite Things Stamps Release, and these party guys will be available tomorrow, Tuesday, February 5 at 10am Eastern time.
I created a shaker card on which to mount the three penguins because, well, it's a PARTY. . . (And who doesn't have a supply of really cool shaker materials that you really need to USE?) Background paper is from the Party Patterns Paper Pack.
While I have linked the products that I used below, the links to the NEW product links will not be live links until release day, 10am Eastern Time, Tuesday, January 8. Welcome to Countdown Day 2 of the My Favorite Things Stamps February Release countdown! Today I chose the For the Record stamp set and the Turntable Die-namics to feature. Yes, I remember playing records. . . and scratching records by carelessly moving the needle--all of those good things! ;-)
My card is pretty straightforward; the only thing that I might need to explain is that the record is plain old Black Licorice cardstock. The die leaves debossed grooves toward the outside ring. I used a white chalk pencil to add some highlights after using Google images to see how a record reflects light. It was super-simple!
I hope you get a chance to visit the MFT Stamps Blog for a complete list of designers using today's new products AND to enter for prizes! Remember that while the MFT products that I used are linked below, the NEW product links won't be live until Release time--that's Tuesday (February 5) at 10am Eastern time. All other links should work now. Welcome to Day 3 of the My Favorite Things Stamps February Release Countdown! At 10am Eastern time on Tuesday, February 5, the February release will be live, and all of the new products shown in the past few days will be available. Today I chose the Birthday Cake Die-namics for my focal image, paired with a sentiment from the Party Penguins stamp set. I used several older dies as well (all listed in my MFT supplies list at the bottom), and then added some Glossy Accents and glitter.
Mmmmm--doesn't that look like chocolate ganache?

Welcome to Day 4 of the My Favorite Things Stamps February Release Countdown! I chose the largest image from the adorable Birth-Yay set to play with today.
Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Birth-Yay images. I airbrushed the background with Copic BG02 and G43 on the new Tag Builder Blueprints 7 Die-namics. I used the previously released Peek-a-Boo Polka Dots Die-namics to simply emboss the gray layer, not cutting it, to add texture.
