Thanks a Ton: MFT Release Countdown Day 5

Welcome to Day 5 of the My Favorite Things Stamps June Release! Today I chose the sweet little whale from the Friends with Fins stamp set to create a thank you card. I also used the waves die from Pop-Up Wiper Card Components on my lightly airbrushed background.

In My Heart: MFT WSC439

Welcome! Today I'm playing along with a My Favorite Things Stamps Sketch Challenge, WSC439. I was away from home during the Poppies kit release a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I would use the Poppies background for today's sketch challenge. I wanted  a low-key tone-on-tone card front. I used Cement gray to stamp the poppies, and then colored the negative spaces with a Copic T1 marker. The only tricky part was getting my shapes cut right to fit the sketch; I lightly penciled in my lines first and then cut on my pencil lines.

A Note to Lift Your Spirits: Wreath Builder Templates

Welcome! Today I am playing along with a special My Favorite Things Stamps challenge: we're using the GinaK Wreath Builder Templates along with any MFT stamp set of our choice to create a project. I used the 4" GinaK Wreath Builder Templates, in conjunction with my MISTI (the original--not the Mini MISTI), and the A Tweet Hello stamp set and coordinating Die-namics.

Sweet Thanks: MFT and Friends

Welcome back! It's May release day for My Favorite Things Stamps; all of the lovely stamp sets and dies that you've been seeing over the past five days are now available. I hadn't used the Watermelon Slice Die-namics yet, so I thought I'd try that one today. 

I have two very similar cards here because once I started playing with the Watermelon Slice Die-namics, I kept wanting to play with it. I used sponged-on distress inks on the Watermelon above, but I used my regular MFT Dye inks on the one below (listed in my supply list). I thought they both worked well. I used a black gel pen to color the watermelon seeds because I wanted them to be shiny.

Bonjour: Club La-La Land Crafts April Review

Welcome! This morning I'm back to share a couple more cards made with the April 2019 Club La-La Land Kit stamps and dies. I hope you picked this kit up when it was available in April! If you did, then this is just a little more inspiration as you play with your kit. (If not, I'm told that you can purchase past kits that are still available beginning with the second month in a club subscription. I'm pretty new to club kits, but what I've gathered so far is that if you love it the first time you see it, you need to get it then! But if you didn't get it then, there will probably be another chance, and there will definitely be another awesome kit the next month--just watch for it!)

Isn't this Marci in Paris a cutie? I colored her skin and hair, as well as the poodle, with Copic markers, and I paper-pieced her clothing and added just a bit of Copic shading on them. While I didn't film the coloring of this particular card, I did film coloring of this same Marci image and the poodle image. Now how about some Paris notecards? I loved the Paris die, and I wanted to make something elegant with it. An additional die that I used was the LLLC Ribbon Corner Die. The patterned papers that I used were from the Sweet Paris 6 x 6 Designer paper pack by Dovecraft. I've had these papers for a while, but I'm guessing that you could find some elegant lovely papers to use with the Paris die whether you find these exact ones or not!

Mini Staggered Circles Stencil: MFT Release Countdown Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the My Favorite Things Stamps May Release Countdown! Today I'm sharing the Mini Staggered Circles Stencil, along with the Greetings and Salutations set, the Stitched Ric Rac Die-namics, and the Skinny Strips Die-namics. I pulled out the Flower Silhouettes stamp set (from the April kit) and the Sweet Sentiments stamp set as well--kind of a mish-mash of what I had on my desk!

For both cards I used a stenciling brush and my dye inks to stencil the background. I usually airbrush with my stencils, but I felt like trying brush stenciling with the Mini Staggered Circles stencil.

Sending Happiness: MFT Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the My Favorite Things Stamps May Release Countdown! At 10am Eastern time on Tuesday, May 7, the May release will be live, and all of the new products shown in the past few days will be available. Today I chose the Sweet Besties stamp set and Dienamics, paired with last month's Scene Builder stamp set to share. I used the three flower stamps from Sweet Besties to stamp a simple, random background for my card and colored in the flower centers with white gel pen.

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Sweet Besties and Scene Builder images. I airbrushed the background, masking between dirt and sky by stamping the grass onto masking paper and fussy cutting a mask on the grass line.

Welcome to Countdown Day 3 of the My Favorite Things Stamps May Release countdown! Today I chose the Pure Innocence Sweet Summertime stamp set to feature. Doesn't that watermelon look juicy? I resisted the urge to put drops of watermelon juice on her shirt; but if it had been me, I would have totally had watermelon juice all down my shirt!

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Sweet Summertime image. I used the MFT Drifts & Hills Stencil to airbrush the grass, and I left the tag stencil in place to mask the edges of the tag shape.
