Say Thanks: February MFT & Friends

Welcome! It's My Favorite Things Stamps February release day, and I have a floral card to share with you today. I love the Hydrangeas in Bloom stamp set, and I'm sure I'll be coloring this one again! I stamped the images in Versamark ink on watercolor paper, and then heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.

Shown above are the Karin Brushmarkers that I used to color the Hydrangeas in Bloom image (also using a waterbrush). These reminded me of my grandmother's hydrangeas; I love how each hydrangea head can shift colors, so I played up on that color shift choosing red-violet, blue-violet, blue, and green tones for the blooms.

Sketchy Florals with Karin Brushmarker Pro

Welcome! Today I have a simple watercolored card to share. I love watercolors, though I have to admit that they stretch the controlling aspects of my personality! ;-) I wish I could be loose and free with them instead of tightening up. Maybe some day! On this card I used Altenew's Sketchy Florals stamp set, colored with Karin Brushmarkers and a water brush. If you are shopping for a great watercolor brush, I highly recommend the Karin Brushmarker Pro set that I linked above. (For the record, although I am sharing an affiliate link, that's exactly what I paid for my set of markers, and I'd buy them again in a heartbeat! It's a really good deal.)

Pretty Pink Posh October Blog Hop

I have a couple of cards to share, beginning with the Winter Wreath card above. I loved this Winter Wreath stamp set and coordinating die set--what a fun, clean style! I layered one extra poinsettia and three little mistletoe sprigs on top of my wreath for extra dimension. 

Shown above are the Copic Sketch markers that I used to color the Winter Wreath images. (Click on the photo for a larger image if you'd like to save it.)

For my second card, I die-cut all of my Stitched Poinsettias die pieces from watercolor paper before misting them with water, adding some random color with my Karin Brushmarkers, and swiping the color around on the wet paper. (I used Magenta, Olive Green, and Lime Green Karin Pro Brushmarkers.) The background that is barely peeking out from behind the poinsettias uses Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters.
