Glittery Ballerina

Welcome! I'm still playing catch-up from eight days in Anaheim. . . where it was MUCH warmer than it is here! Today I have a sweet little Saturated Canary digital image to share, Haley and Harley. (Okay, I cropped Harley, because I wasn't sure that the glitter-loving lady whom I was making the card for would love a tutu-wearing piglet!) 

These were the Copic markers that I used to color Haley. 

I also used four Spica Glitter pens: clear, pink, lilac, and mint. I had to get the light just right so that you'd see the glitter; this girl is seriously shining! I love my Spicas because they are understated--they whisper instead of shouting. ;-)

Patterned paper is from MFT Stamps' Painted Prints Smitten 6 x 6 pad. I used the large rectangle die from Die-namics Blueprints 15 to cut the patterned front, but I cut the ballerina rectangle by hand since I didn't have a die that was just the right proportions.

Now I just need to get my glittery girl in the mail. . . Have a fabulous week!

The Princess and the Queen

Welcome! I just finished a card for two of my young friends and thought I'd share it tonight. I started with a printout of the Saturated Canary digital image, Queenie and Princess; it was perfect for them!

 

Shown above are the Copic markers that I used to color the image, which was printed on X-Press It Blending cardstock with a Canon MG5220 inkjet printer. (As always, just click to enlarge.)

I used three die template sets on my card: Spellbinders Classic Squares Large for the opening in the middle, Grand Squares (oops--I think this one is retired) for the outer edge of the patterned card front, and Framed Tags 1 for the sentiment (stamp from Mega Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink). Finished size of the card is about 5-1/8" square. Now to get it in the mail for the Queen and the Princess! Thanks for stopping by,

Welcome! I've been coloring today. . . Before I forget, I updated my Copic Classes page, and I wanted to give a shout out for the upcoming Copic Standard and Intermediate Certification classes in Minneapolis on May 16 and 17. There are spaces available in BOTH of these classes, and I'd love to see you there if you live in the Minneapolis area--or even if you want a reason to visit the nearby Mall of America! Now on to my card. . .

How sweet is this little Saturated Canary Snail Mail digital stamp? I loved it, and into my shopping cart it went! I made this card for a dear friend who is having a tough time these days. (Look at the bottom of the post for the COPIC Colors Map for this image.) I used two Spellbinders die sets on the card front, an A-2 Matting Basics B to impress a rectangle on the Sweet Blush card front, and a 5 x 7 Matting Basics A die template to cut and emboss my focal image panel. For the card front, I decided that just the simple die impression, as opposed to patterned paper, kept the focus on the image. 

For the inside sentiment, I used Papertrey Ink's Love Lives Here stamp set, stamped in Berry Sorbet ink. The little row of hearts is cut with a Spellbinders On the Edge die template (not available on the Spellbinders site, but still available online in several places).
