Tonight I have a special sneak peek for you; this isn't my usual night for the PaperTrey Ink releases, but we rearranged a bit this month. My set is a sentiment set by Melissa Bickford, Heartfelt Basics. I love words almost as much as pictures, and Melissa did a wonderful job creating a versatile sentiment set.
Nichole had challenged us to use Heartfelt Sentiments with older sets, so I chose one of my old favorites to pair it with, Spiral Bouquet. Then I created a four-card boxed gift set, coordinating, but for different occasions: friendship, thank you, birthday, and serious illness/sympathy. I can think of several people on my gift list who would rather have a card assortment than, say, a fruitcake. (Seriously though, I make a good fruitcake. :-D)
Although I've used the sentiments on the outsides of my cards here, they work perfectly for card insides, coordinating with both Women of Life and the soon-to-be-released Men of Life sets and useful for so many other sets as well.
For this card set, I used the following materials:
Stamps: Heartfelt Basics, Spiral Bouquet, Polka Dot Basics
Cardstock: Kraft, Ripe Avocado, Plum Pudding, and Vintage Ivory
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Plum Pudding (PTI); Tea Leaves, Spring Pansy, Spanish Olive Versamagic (Tsukineko); Antique Linen Distress Pad (Ranger)
Accessories: Stardust Stickles, A Muse Twinkle Stickers; Clearly Creative Card Box
Tools: sewing machine, Spellbinders tags and Ovals dies
I stamped the kraft cardstock background on one sheet, then cut it into four card base mats. From there on, I simply added the sentiments and then worked around them with other design elements. There are 26 pieces in this set--over a dozen main sentiments, with the rest of the pieces being words that you choose in order to make the sentiment say precisely the right thing--ingenious!
If you'd like to see more PTI sneak peeks, Nichole, Melissa, and Lisa will all have posts up today. Thanks for visiting!
